Hello LCPDFR Community,

I have a big problem. As i switched to Windows 10 my LCPDFR stopped working :(

I started my game and pressed ALT+P and realized that i can't enter any police station, there isn't even a marker infront of the door. I tried to bypass it by typing "forceduty" in the console but huh?, my console isn't working too :/

So i ran the LCPDFR Diagnostics Tool and it said: '>

In the Diagnostics Log file it says: [system dependencies] Failed to find .NET Framework 4.4

I tried to install both, the client profile AND the standalone .NET Framework installer and much others ('>)

In "Programs and Features" it only shows: '>

And in the windows features window it shows: '>

If i try to install some .NET it always shows

Using: Windows 10 TP Build 9879

GTA IV: 1.0.7.0 (latest)

LCPFR: 1.0c

Maybe i mispelled my problem or you read to fast ^_^ I already tried to install ALL possible versions of .NET Framework from 1.1 to 4.6. The ONLY successfull Installation was 1.1 all others failed with ~"there is a newer version already installed!"

The only "maybe possible" solution is that i need an installer that doesnt check for previous or newer versions installed. Thanks for your try to help anyway :)

Maybe removing the versions you already have installed of .NET Framework and install the one i linked? Your problem is .NET Framework, You need version 4.5 to work (or newer?) older versions of .NET Framework won't work with LCPD:FR 1.0

What OS are you using? (XP,Vista,7,8?)

I uninstalled this Version here:  and removed the listed versions here:  already. Still unaible to install any .NET Framework version!

That might be a problem with Windows itself, Windows 10 isn't at full release, the version you're using is a public beta so there will be a few issues. THe only solution i can really give is to keep trying to install 4.5, if LMS or even Jay doesn't have a solution (They're both experienced with this type of stuff) you may need to revert back to a previous version of Windows (either 7 or 8.1) to get LCPD:FR to work.

Really? If i downgrade to Windows 8.1 again all my Savegames are lost again -.- " Even with the Trainer it takes like 5 hours to get through the story :C

Like i said, you might not have to. To me it seems like a problem with Windows 10, and not many people here are experienced with that OS. All LCPD:FR players use either Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1. Wait until LMS leaves a reply (if he doesn't you could send him a friendly message and see if he can check it out) LMS would be the best person to talk to with this issue.

If you do need to downgrade to Windows 8, just use Xlive.dll and use a 100% savegame =)

LMS is the lead developer on LCPD:FR, without him we wouldn't have it.. He is also very techy is problems like this he most likely has a solution too (just beware he is busy, so wait atleast a day or 2 before messaging him about your issue).

Yeah, xlive disables the multiplayer feature. although LCPD:FR itself doesn't go well with the multiplayer since it wasn't designed for it

What do you think could be the bug? Isn't a newer version always better (like it has everything from the previous version and more)?and why is he saying in the log he needs 4.4 and in the tool it says it needs 4.5 :o

Im curious about that cause everything else works just fine. I can even compile .NET Applications wih Visual Studio 2015 :€

I think the issue is that Windows 10 Preview probably also comes with the .NET Framework 4.6 Preview. The 4.6 update might have changed some of the files which would cause LCPDFR to not work properly.

An updated version isn't always better =) Like willpv23 stated, Windows 10 comes with .NET Framework 4.6 (which cannot be removed at all from your computer), 4.6 has most likely changed some files from 4.5 causing LCPD:FR to not work properly.

So by the sounds of it, you can't play LCPD:FR with Windows 10.

The issue with the dependencies simply comes from the fact the diagnostics tool doesn't know .NET Framework 4.6. The logs show no issues and LCPDFR loads just fine. No console might be related to a wrong keyboard layout. I'm not using Windows 10 yet, but is there any chance it switched you to the en-US keyboard layout (as yours is de-DE)? The keys will differ then.

@LMS you were totally right. The issue with the console was that i am using en-US as windows display language and de-DE as input method. Everytime i start GTA IV it forces to switch to en-US whyever :o But im going to give that its own topic. :3

Also the missplaced markers are half of solved. I zoomed out of the map and found two department markers at the maps border in the Ocean. I teleported to it with the Trainer and voila loading screen plus teleport to police station interior. Everything else worked fine except the car spawning in the ocean and i need to fast tp me on land.

O think one of this is the reason:

I installed a new Radar that changed several hud.* files

I installed two vehicle spawns for south broker and airport.

Im going to undo those steps asap to resolve the issue.

Thanks to all for the great help. I really wouldn't know what to play when im bored or offline instead of LCPDFR :)

Also @LMS i like the usage stats very much :3 Do you think you could enhance it a bit? (More text formatting(lile colors etc.), a "In Singleplayer"/"in Multiplayer" at the end of each entry, a possibilty to watch the stats ingame(in game chat or in your own upper right chat window or in the console))

Also whats the status of the Anti-Crash Client ? Im definitly going to donate the full game price again if this works :3

Good to hear it's (kinda) solved! The misplacement is really interesting, but I can't really explain it. So yes, maybe it's just your mods.

Yes, I thought about that as well, I was considering end of shift but due to crashing or fast quitting it would be rather pointless as you'd never see it. So not completely decided about this yet.

Anti-Crash has proven itself to be almost impossible as fixing one issue in IV's code just makes it appear elsewhere, but I'm developing some other interesting stuff which definitely helps. Stay tuned!
