The UKs war on the porn industry

Featured Replies

I don't that that a child should be allowed to watch it after being caught. It's a negative influence on their susceptible minds.

In a perfect world that would be ideal. But its impossible for a parent to be everywhere their child is to prevent them from watching porn. So in my opinion the best thing you can do is talk to your child as soon as you discover they are watching porn so you can educate them about it. I recently discovered that my 12 year old nephew was trying to watch porn on his phone and i immediately told his parents so they were aware of the situation and could talk to him about it. I don't really have a problem with porn i watch it and i think its fair to say that most men do on a regular basis. It also doesnt bother me that my 12 year nephew watches porn because i know i did at that age and i think its perfectly normal to do so. However i do agree that children should be educated about it and not chastised for watching it. Now if you dont condone your child watching porn for whatever reason thats fine but just be aware that you cant be everywhere and your child is going to do whatever they want in the end. So i think its better to educate them about porn and hope for the best.

I guess you're not aware of them, but there are things called web filters which do the job just fine.

You can install a web filter and have all internet connections within the home filtered at the router, meaning it will be applied to all devices connecting to the internet and cannot be bypassed. Also, by law (within the uk), all mobile phone providers must provide a web filter for all 3G connections that can be applied upon request.

It's even better if you educate children on the dangers of pornography, and then block it to limit their access to it as much as possible. That way, you don't need to just "hope for the best".
