I am wondering what is bette fo the PC , The GTA IV Download itself or the disc? What should I get.

Well a lot of people use Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/ and download the program and buy the games from there. It's very reliable.

There's an automatic installer for LCPDFR 1.0, which is easier than the manual install in my opinion.

For someone like me, who takes care of their disks and has an awful download speed, a disk copy is better. 

 

Apart from the installation method, they're exactly the same game so it doesn't matter which one you get regardless. I remember reading somewhere that the Steam copy is a little harder to downgrade compared to a disk copy though, in-case that's something you want to do. 

By downgrade what do you mean?

Steam automatically updates the game to patch 7, where-as a a disk copy does not. Certain graphical mods look better on the older, out-dated patches, so some people prefer to use those.

 

That being said, script mods such as LCPDFR and ELS V8 will only work on patch 7.
