  • ---   That aside, it's great to see this mod released to much critical acclaim. You've done some great work here, LtFlash, and I cannot commend your efforts enough. :)

  • The mod has reached 10,000 downloads. Thank you!

  • I think this is just the kind of work Robocop needs in Liberty City. Great work!

I'm using Pure GTA IV 1.0.7.0.   My laptop is too weak to handle visual mods and produce 30 frames per second.

That cannot be true. Just look at the building across the street. The reflections and sky color is not like that in stock IV. I'm pretty sure you downloaded one of those mods a long time ago and perhaps forgot that you ever installed it? I know it may sound weird but I can recognize visual mods anywhere. Also, if your lappy is weak, that may well be a reason why you would be using that mod. Visual and Reality IV were originally meant for weak rigs, modifying stock game files to make IV look better without compromising FPS.

Developer diary #4

The main branch is being polished, tweaked etc. I revised the code, did some tests and found a couple of potential bugs which will be fixed. I'm considering to create 1-2 new calls for the next update.

The more interesting info is that I managed to create a working "machinery" to expand my calls to (at least) Algonquin. I also started to collect spawn points for them, for example "EMS requesting assistance" has 480 spawns all over Algonquin. I was able to create a configurable location-based spawn selector. A player will have an option to decide how big his work area is, lemme give you an example: the island can be divided into 2, 3, 4, 5 districts or not divided at all. Let's say it's divided into 5 districts. When a player is located in the 1st district which consists of 3 areas (Northwood, N. Holland, E. Holland) he will receive calls only from these areas. When he moves to the 2nd district - his calls will come from Varsity Heights, Middle Park West, Middle Park, Lancaster, M. Park East.

480 spawns.

Four hundred and eighty. Spawn points.

The district feature is what I've been expecting for real! Since sometimes I was called to a mugging from the other side of the island like I'm the only working police down there.

...and it's only one callout  :teehee:

Your idea to put fighting hobos to undergrounds was great, I've visited a couple of stations and gotta admit that those places are perfect to make'em even more dirty and dangerous. It'll be "pure filth" (who knows where's this phrase from  ).

Algonquin has a loooot of dangerous places there all kinds of shit can happen, true that.

LTA police will have a bigger role this way, good!

Any chance of disclosing some info on those new calls?

I'd rather not to reveal anything specific because my time is limited = I don't want to keep you in suspense. Only thing I can say that one of 'em would be more dynamic, another - slow and routine but sometimes tricky and dangerous. Both are based on reality of SoBx and specific locations to increase the immersion.

do i drag and drop the 'Thewasteland' folder into my LCPDFR/Audio/Policescanner folder as it does not mention anything in the readme on how to install the files apart from what they are called

You need to reduce your graphic settings/vehicle density. Lack of memory cannot be by-passed by the script = I'm not able to fix it.

my vehicle density is about 3 or 4 and the graphics are medium

Try adding a commandline.txt file to the games main directory.  I tweaked it for my system in particular.  In it put the following;

-availablevidmem 2
-noprecache
-novblank
-norestrictions
-nomemrestrict

It works for my system, but I have a 4gigs available of virtual memory for my vid card, which this command lines forces.

Good luck

I just love how you're making it all seem logical. R* sacrificed the same for "ambience" in the city.

Try to open a console (key [~]), type startcallout carfire or startcallout transport (works between 8AM and 4PM) and press enter (while onduty ofc). It should force-start those calls. If it does - you have just a bad luck, if not - we'll be looking deeper.
