The Wasteland - callouts for Bohan

Featured Replies

Not everyone uses Wouter's callout. I too was lost when I first encountered the "|D0|" message. But I thought whats the worse that can happen if I press the wrong key so I took my chances with the ")/0" key and it worked.

Although I didn't find it quite difficult to understand what to do with the callouts. Figured each of them out on first try easily.

  • ---   That aside, it's great to see this mod released to much critical acclaim. You've done some great work here, LtFlash, and I cannot commend your efforts enough. :)

  • The mod has reached 10,000 downloads. Thank you!

  • I think this is just the kind of work Robocop needs in Liberty City. Great work!

@OfficerBurningBowl: I know what may be causing that, will try to fix. Thanks!

@C.O. N.Y.: ok, now we can do something. You need to back up the SlimDX.dll file located in your GTA IV directory (eg. copy it to the Documents folder) and unpack the *.rar I included to the GTA IV folder. After replacement try to run your game and report back, please.

** i am using a PS3 type controller until my xbox one gets delivered. there's 3 files in the directory to make this work. could the input controller be linked to this issue ?? **

I believe your PS3 controller files might cause the problem. Take a look at these lines:

[ERROR - 11:15:35 AM] [] SlimDX.XInput.XInputException: Unknown: n/a (-1)
   at SlimDX.Result.Throw[T](Object dataKey, Object dataValue)
at SlimDX.Result.Record[T](Int32 hr, Boolean failed, Object dataKey, Object dataValue)
   at SlimDX.XInput.Controller.GetState()

As far as I know SlimDX handles external controllers and - in your case - there is an error connected with the part of the library that is responsible for that. I'd move the files of PS3 pad out the GTA IV folder and try again.

they are all working fine except the car on fire callout which almost always leads to an unexpected explosion which crashes my game (PS: its the explosion which crashes the game, not the script).

Car explosions also lead to crashes in my LCPDFR game, too; however, I've had this issue before these callouts were made.

Once again, thank you for such of great callouts, I played it for over an hour without any issues, I didn't get some of the callouts since I was only doing a nigh shift, but it works out fine for me and also thanks for the user guide...

I've just played for a while with this, and i may say that it's amazing! Maybe you can do some other boroughs like Alderney or the small towns. I think it would be pretty cool if we can have some illegal street racers to stop or chatch!

@Stevetrackboyz, thanks! I enjoyed your video, a lot of police brutality but after all - great police work  :teehee: just kiddin' thanks to you I noticed a couple of things to improve in my script.

I highly recommend to see the footage - some of you may notice that violent scenario of "ElBums"

@Sheriff Van Dyck: thanks for your nice words. As I posted in Download section - expanding my calls to another boroughs have low priority, I want to focus on bug fixing, adding new calls and features.

Yeah, i guess you are right on that one. Adding new callouts sounds more exciting! If you need any help feel free to contact me, i know how to sell drugs to old ladies.

Developer diary

The code is being rewritten in case of some calls to get more realistic experience and fix all issues you guys encountered while playing. Eg. in case of MuggVic the victim will be following you to the RMP to avoid confusion, EMSAssist suspect will be easier to apprehend and the paramedics will receive their task on basis of  an actual situation. GangAssault spawns got moved because of obvious issues with a prisoner transport after arresting them. I'm trying to make the pack more stable, easier to use and prepare to release the stable version. After getting those 10 working satisfactorily I'll turn another ideas into new callouts.

Edited by LtFlash

So I got the Sucide Callout last night and I wasn't sure if I needed to press something to help him or what but when I called EMS or the Coroner to come down the Coroner never made it to the scene and when EMS came they drove to the scene one of them got out and the driver drove off crazy. So basically the person died and I don't know if the behavior of the EMS or the Coroner is because of the script or something else.

I encountered a bug today. I responded to a burglary report and the complainant was located by me near a public telephone booth near Applejack St. Police Station. She told me that the guy kicked him. Then I was prompted to rush her to the nearby hospital. I got into the car, but she did not. And I have no idea how I was supposed to convince her to get in. So I got in and the waypoint directed me towards the hospital. I went there and there was an error (I'm guessing this one):

The issue is already fixed. In the next update the complainant will follow player to the car, even if his/her task will be interrupted (s)he will continue untill (s)he gets to the car. So there shouldn't be issues like yours anymore. At this moment you can use 'Detain in the car' to have a possibility to finish the call in every case of ped's failure.

Every callout I get i get an error like "an exception was handled properly, the resource does not exist"

1. Technically it's the same like "Disregard". In case of CarFire it could be caused by one small bug which is fixed already. Any other occurrence of this kind of error is caused by your configuration and hardware - the script couldn't spawn a vehicle or a ped because there's too many vehicles around for example. Wait for 0.7.0 and report back if the situation has improved.

2. I'm aware of that bug with ElBums, will be fixed in the next release.

I like it but I respond to 1 call and it seems to crash the callouts. I don't get an error message of any sort. I hit F7 just to see if it is still running and I only get the LCPDFR receiving/not receiving callouts, yours no longer appears.
