Searching for a new PC

Did you pick these yourself? If your a bit new I would go off a pc part picker list. Anyway this will be able to run any game on ultra settings in 1080p, probably even crysis 3.

Looks like a very nice setup Michael! Better than my specs! As iiKonrad said, you should be able to run any game on ultra with good FPS.

How much is that going to cost you?

$2000. It ain't cheap.

Also, Not sure if its just me but that motherboard doesnt look compatible with the case. not sure, dont quote me on it.

I didn't even consider that. It might not be.

I found most of it on PCPartPicker, but I found some better deals on Newegg itself.

PC sucks bro...

Just kidding, but I'd go with a water cooled GPU aswell, when you go with a water cooled CPU.

And aswell, if you use the 120GB SSD as your C: drive, DON'T!! I made that mistake and I'm really limited with my games and programs, go with a 200GB atleast.

You could try, like I did and it might work but my PC is full of junk and I really have to clean my PC every month to keep it fast and the C: drive clean. right now I've got 6GB on my C: drive left out off 120GB, really sad, isn't it?

Go with a water cooled GPU and add a couple GB's to the SSD and it's a beast!!

get rid of windows 8. Use windows 7. A whole lot better.

Hey guys,

So my laptop is on its last legs, and I'm in the market for a new one. I'm really new to PC building, but what I want is a decently future proof computer that can run max settings on games like GTA and Watch_Dogs. As you can tell by the price, I'm not looking for another one for a while. Not really looking for anything pretty but something that can perform.

Please let me know of any better parts, if they're compatible, or if I'm missing something. As I said, I'm new.

No, Windows 8 is just as good or even better than 7 if you can deal with the minor interface change. You still get the desktop, and with 8.1 you can get the Start Menu back. Windows 8 to 8.1 is a free upgrade.

I agree with JokerMods, you should definitely get a bigger SSD if you are going to store plenty of games on it. Of course, if you're only getting two games, GTA and Watch Dogs, what you have now should be fine, but if you're storing a ton of stuff on it I would personally buy double that, or even go up to 500GB, especially if you have the money to spend on it. However, you don't want to go too big or the SSD won't perform as quick as it should.

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/mrQvdC Best build you can get for $2,000. I changed a couple of things, like the CPU cooler, RAM, and PSU. I wouldn't go with an off brand PSU like Apevia. The power supply is one of the most important parts of a PC, if the power supply fails there goes the whole system. It is never good to skip on quality when it comes to PC's.

Why do people say Windows 7 is better, There is like no difference. People say "Oh its a tablet not good for gaming blah blah" well newsflash, click the "Desktop" icon and you have Windows 7 but better.

According to your list, you have a full tower case with a micro-ATX motherboard.  I recommend you get a regular ATX motherboard since your case has plenty of space.  The larger motherboard will give you more space to mount your liquid cooling system, more PCIe slots so that you can arrange your large videocard optimally, and more slots should you decide to SLI another 780 to your existing one.  Micro-ATX motherboards should only be considered if you get a small case, due to size.

I agree. The power supply is like the heart of a human, it gets blood (In this case power) to everything so it functions. And the motherboard is the brain, it controls everything.

Technically speaking, the CPU is the brain, and the motherboard is your nervous system.  But who's counting.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you on that. Windows 8.1 has been terrible for me. A huge problem for it is that a lot of people's computers aren't wanting to leave wakeup mode and come back on. They have to hard restart their computer. But, if it works for you, or the poster go for it.

Nice build, however i don't like the liquid cooling but that's just my preference.

It'll be a beast of a machine, same processor and graphics card as me (however mine is MSI instead of ASUS). You'll be able to play games with no problems.

If you want to me reply as soon as possible, then either quote or @CouthInk4  me as i'll be notified, a general reply will not notify me

Excellent choices, however if this is your first build you should wait to put the water cooler in, trust me it will be worth it once you know where everything is going in your case.

To add to that, the stock cooler of the 4790K is pretty good.

If not overclocking, the stock cooler is perfectly fine. If you are planning to overclock, Michael, get an aftermarket cooler. It doesn't have to necessarily be a water cooler like everyone is saying either. There are air coolers that perform just as well for 1/3 of the cost of some water coolers.

With the specs he has overclocking is overkill. No pun intended.
