How on earth do I fix this? This is my first go at Zmodeler so some help please!

You want to deselect the lightbar? If so, click quadr, drag over the lightbar and press "ctrl" on your keyboard.

You can press Shift + D to deselect. Assuming thats your problem.

Looks like you've scaled the lightbar itself but not the textures. You can press "Alt+Z" to undo your previous action.

 

If you're trying to select and move the entire lightbar, hide the car, select all, enter polygonal mode, select all again and then move. Once it's in position, enter normal mode again.
