Is it possible to make "PoliceW" an actual Police vehicle in EFLC?

Not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask this question, but eh, ima go with it anyways. So anyways, is it possible, as the topic title says, to actually make the "PoliceW", an EFLC-only vehicle an actual police vehicle? Like with lights and sirens and stuff? And I know I can just replace the model and texture with an actual police car's model and texture, but then it wont be ELS-enabled or have lights or sirens because how the game reads it is as if it was a civilian vehicle, like the APC. So, if it is possible, can someone please tell me how to do it? I have been curious as to has this been possible by like editing the files somewhere in the game's files of the vehicle or something. What do I do? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! :smile:

EDIT: Reason being, because I want to use that slot like a police slot, if possible. Again, any help would be appreciated. Thanks again to any who respond who can help me on this troubling matter at hand! :smile:

In SP, you can have policew as a police vehicle simply by adding it to the slot control file.

In MP, same applies except it won't have sirens.

No fix for this unless Caine pulls something out of his fancy little hat.

My System:

Slot control file huh? Uh...where do I find that exactly? Can you tell me? I really want to use it as an additional police vehicle slot with the whole lights and sirens stuff, the more ELS police vehicles you have the better! And I dont play MP, so that is fine. But so yeah, how do I go about adding it to the whole "slot control file" thing exactly? And once I do it, it'll have the lights and sirens and can have ELS lighting with it as well correct?

Assuming you're in EFLC:

C:/Program Files (x86)/Rockstar Games/EFLC/ELS/_SLOTCONTROL.ini

So basically in the folder named "ELS" in your EFLC directory.

Okay and once there, what do I do? Is all I need to do is make a slot for PoliceW? And if so, will it then automatically have the same lights and sirens and possibility of ELS patterns like all other emergency vehicles? And also, does this work with any vehicle?

If you have ELSv8 the "_SLOTCONTROL" file should be in your ELS folder. With ELSv7 i think the file is in your GTA IV directory.

With both versions just add the following lines under the rest of them...

[ POLICEW ]

Status = on

File = default_config

Pay attention to the position of spaces and capital letters and such or it may not work

I know this, and I did this, does this mean that now PoliceW can use ELS lighting as well, including ELS lights and a police siren? Or do I have to do something more to make that work? Like it also have the police siren and stuff as well? And also, does this work with any cars? That is what I was asking, in case I needed to clarify it more.

if you done it right you should have all ELS features Enabled on that vehicle and yes, this should work on every vehicle.

Keep in mind though that unless the vehicle being replace was a police car to begin with, civilians will not move for the sirens and i don't think you can pull people over or use the police computer.

Oh that is very unfortunate. Is there anyway to make that possible to do on a normal civilian vehicle then? And if so, how do I go about doing that then? Cause what I really want to do is make it so the policew is indeed a police vehicle that has all police features like being able to pull people over and use the police computer and what not, ya know, make it an actual police vehicle. And like I said, if possible, how would I go about doing that? Any response on this would greatly be appreciated, tis' what I really want to do. So any word on how to do that then? Oh and also, it can use the siren now, correct?

Let's say this...

[ POLICE4 ]
Status = on
File = mnvn_vector

...is one of your entries.

Copy + Paste + Rename POLICE4 -> the vehicle you want ELS-enabled (in this case, POLICE4 -> POLICEW)

[ POLICEW ]
Status = on
File = mnvn_vector

Now, if you want a different lighting pattern, you would have to create a new config file. It's the other .ini files in the folder.

So in this case, you can duplicate the mnvn_vector and just rename it to something. We'll call it "spreilly_config"

So now we have this:

[ POLICEW ]
Status = on
File = spreilly_config

If you want to actually change the patterns, you'd have to open your newly-created "spreilly_config.ini" file and edit the following:

[ MISC ]

Slicktop = off
LstgActivationType = default
EnableArrowBoard = off

^ This, going down the list, switches the vehicle to slicktop mode (less reflections), changes the lighting stage activation type, and enables the arrowboard to be hooked up to the trunk/hood.

[ CRUISE ]

OnForAiCars = on
DisableAtLstg3 = off
UseExtra1 = off
UseExtra2 = on
UseExtra3 = off
UseExtra4 = off

^ This edits the settings for steady-burns you can toggle and, going down the list, cruise-enables AI cars, disables cruise mode at the 3rd stage, and determines what of the four main lights it uses.

[ SOUNDS ]
HRN_Type = ahrn
HRN_SrnToneForMan2 = yelp
SRN_ResetSrnTone = on
SRN_AllowToneYelp = on
SRN_AllowToneAlt1 = on
SRN_AllowToneAlt2 = on

^ This changes the sound settings. Determines what horn to use for the vehicle, and whether certain siren tones are enabled/disabled.

[ CORONAS ]

Headlights = off, 0
Taillights = on, 0
IndicatorsF = off, 0
IndicatorsB = off, 0
Reverselights = on, 0

^ This enables/disables GTA vehicle light-based wig-wags and strobes and determines what pattern.

[ WRNL ]
Type = halo
UseScnNotTkd = off
ForcePatForLstg = on
PatId_Lstg3 = 5

^ This changes the type of flashing that the warning lights will do (strobe, halogen, etc.), determines the pattern if desired and edits certain aspects of the way these lights will flash.

[ PRML ]
Type = leds
ForcePatForLstg = off
PatId_Lstg2 = 0
PatId_Lstg3 = 0
Lstg2ActiveExtras = 2and3
ExpressModeRandPat = off
ForcePatForSrnTones = off
PatId_Yelp = 0
PatId_Alt1 = 0
PatId_Alt2 = 0

^ This changes the type of flashing that the primary lights will do (strobe, halogen, led, etc.), determines the pattern if desired and edits certain aspects of the way these lights will flash.

[ SECL ]
Type = drct
DisableAtLstg3 = on
ForcePatForLstg = on
PatId_Lstg1 = 0
PatId_Lstg2 = 4
PatId_Lstg3 = 3

^ This changes the type of flashing that the secondary lights will do (strobe, halogen, led, etc.), determines the pattern if desired and edits certain aspects of the way these lights will flash.

[ ENV_LIGHT_COLORS ]
Extra_1 = red
Extra_2 = white
Extra_3 = white
Extra_4 = red
Extra_5 = white
Extra_6 = white
Extra_7 = amber
Extra_8 = amber
Extra_9 = amber

^ This changes the color of the environmental reflections of the lights.

All right, thank you for that spreilly, but what I want to know, i'll redirect this to all who sees this thread now, is, now that I know it'll have the lights and sirens, which thanks again for that spreilly, but anywho, what I want to know now is how to actually make a civilian vehicle become a police vehicle, like be able to do all the stuff police vehicles can, including pulling over people, accessing the police radio, etc. is there any actual way to do this, and if so, how do I go about doing this? Anyone who can help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to any who can help! :smile:

I think people would move over with ELS 8, but don't quote me on that. The lights and sirens will work just like any other ELS vehicle. You should be able to pull people over and use the police computer by opening LCPDFR.ini in the LCPDFR folder and adding POLICEW; after AdditionalCopCarModels.

But I thought only actual police vehicles could be added there. If I added the policew there, or any vehicle there for that matter, would it automatically make it so it could be used in the same way the other police vehicles are? Like any vehicle at all, and if I add ELS v8 lighting? Cause it would be awesome if it worked like that, I could make my own extra personal slots with vehicles that are rarely seen or not used even and use them as police vehicles. So if I add it to the ini it would work then? Like be able to do all the stuff a normal police vehicle does? And would that be the only thing I would have to do? Just edit the ini? Or would I have to do more beyond that to be able to make a civilian vehicle work like a police vehicle? Sorry for all the questions and stuff but I just wanna know, I really wanna transform some civilian vehicles over to police vehicles if possible using these tactics. So is editing the ini really the only thing I would have to do to make it work?

It should work for any vehicle, the point of the option is to add your own vehicles. LCPDFR automatically recognizes the default GTA IV and EFLC police vehicles without any modification to the file.

Wow it worked! Thanks all to helped me out in this topic! You guys are all awesome! The help was appreciated! Thanks again to all who helped! I hope you all have a wonderful day! Thanks again! :biggrin:

EDIT: However vehicles do not pull over for you when you do it this way, other than that and what another user pointed out happens in MP, with no sirens when this is done, this all works and is great because it lets you make other vehicles become police vehicles from civilian vehicles. I hope this can help others out there with a similar question. Thanks again to all those who helped me on this situation. I hope they all and everyone who read this have a wonderful day! Thanks again to those who helped! :thumbsup:
