RCMP phasing out the FS Legend

Featured Replies

So I was on my way to a call the other day when an RCMP FPI flew by me lights & sirens going, I thought maybe I miss saw the flash pattern as it's not normally one they would use, so I got a closer look & it's a new Whelen Century lightbar, things ugly as f*ck.. anyway, I thought it was just the one, but I asked my buddy who outfits their cars & sadly, they are phasing out the Federal Signal Legend, my opinion, they should keep it the way it is, especially since Whelen is such as expensive brand, heres a pic of one:

  • I actually think Valors look pretty decent, after seeing them in normal use. Really, as long as a lightbar is effective at warning people and being seen, it doesn't matter much how it looks.

  • Buncha bi-polar ass monkeys.

  • Believe it or not, Valors are very uncommon around here in this province, Halifax Regional Police use Whelen Liberty. but are going to Code 3 RX2700 by the looks of it, Bridgewater Police & Truro

Ehhhh, I personally think the Valor or whatever the V-shaped LED bar is, is uglier depending on the car. But that bar is pretty fuck ugly.

True. I just don't think it looks all that great on the new Ford PIs. I do however, think that it does look really good on the Chargers, since it is the V-shape and kind of fast looking, and the Charger is the meanest looking cop car. That bar fits the car IMO.

@starcraftguy- I would have if I wanted to get pulled over lol

We're all over the place here in OC. The OCSD, IPD, and LPPD use Liberties, old OCSD use Edges, Anaheim PD used 21TRs and now use Valors, Tustin PD use the. 21TR and Orange PD use some Code 3 shit.

SCNG FTW!!

Something tells me they use different light bars for different units, or just broke as hell, Liberties aren't cheap, $1700.0 a pop..

Damn, already? Half of New Brunswick still uses the old Code 3 MX7000. And if you're lucky enough to spot one of Codiac's paddy wagons, I'm pretty sure it has an LP6000.

I don't think they will ever stop using the MX7000, NB FPI's have them on their units, they really don't know what they want & have an odd system... I've seen one with a Tomar Blade, FS Arjent, Whelen Liberty etc

I mean, it's not the ugliest of lightbars. As long as it serves its purpose. Anyone able to find a video of it in action?

Yeah, I've seen quite a few different kinds of lightbars on the cars out here. I haven't seen an Arjent, that'd be odd to see.

I think there is one in either Manitoba RCMP or Alberta RCMP.

I find it odd that not all RCMP units have the same setup, there are some with different lightbars, some with different sirens etc.

I believe this is a video of it in action? (I know it's a tow truck set-up but they probably still have the same flash patterns)

It's easier to see the differences in the flash when their are blue and red lights being used. Hard to tell with one color.

That flash pattern SUCKS balls! :yucky:
