Hello all,

I Know a lot of people have started to dig around in V's ped models, script coding etc. what i was wondering was is there any cop stuff (vehicles, weapons, ped models, speech etc.) that are in the game files but aren't actually used ingame? like GTA IV had unused speech for traffic stops/Batons that ended up being in LCPDFR, that kind of stuff. I did hear that in V there were originally K-9 units and riot cops/APC's ingame (tear gas anyone?), and that originally all cops would use Nightsticks/tasers on a 1 star wanted, but they were removed. can anyone dig in the files and confirm this?

One of the things I can confirm for ya' is that cops definetively used batons, as rarely they will drop a baton after being killed in certain occasions. It also seems they were indeed going to use tazers as a line from the scanner is giving authorization to officers the use of that non lethal mean.

 

Beta LSPD officers used the same body as County Sheriff's deputies, a reason as to why current LSPD officers don't go with the females in their uniform.

I've seen them use batons also, they beat me to death!

Adding some more:

 

N.O.o.S.E operatives were probably ment to be the LSPD's swat at some point, eirlier screenshots showed them with a dark navy blue outfit and a patch in grey that resembled the LAPD's. The scanner also identifies them as SWAT when dispatching (well they're technically a swat team anyways...).

 

There are unused FIB agent models which can be used in the capture creator, there is also an FIB variant of the Frogger (Trevor owns this variant, but with the graffiti extras on it) it is all black with FIB written on the back on both sides.

 

It seems that Police officers also used Carabine rifles in eirlier stages.

i seem to recall that only Security guards actually used nightsticks against you, i've never seen cops use them but some do have them in their belts.

if i had my way, in the default  V game at 1-star levels they'd use batons/tasers or tackle you, get you on the ground and cuff you, or pull you over to give you a ticket if you speed on the highway, at 2-stars theyd draw guns and attempt to bust you like normal, at 3 stars if weapons are fired theyd try to take you down, if not theyd call in K-9 and Riot guys with gas guns and shields, and put up road blocks, and 4 and above would be SWAT guys coming after you. As you can tell, i kind of miss the wanted system from San Andreas :P hopefully if V comes out on PC someone will make a mod for all these...

- Both Michael and Trevor have unused LSPD outfits, these despict rather early versions before the Navy blue cops were implemented. 

 

Note: This are Michael's part, probably a reason as to why the dutybelt acts as an accessorie. 

 

cool- maybe in V we could use a trainer to spawn those uniforms.

All the three characters have firefighter outfits, but only Franklin & Michael use it during the Fire crew approach for the Bereu Heist. 

 

+ Both Michael and Trevor have Paramedic decls in their player files, but none of them have an uniform, Michael has a pair of latex gloves though...

 

Interestingly enough, the old Police computer is still in the files with the LCPD Logo and the colour scheme, there are also body/blood effects for herpes, cuts and band-aids. 

 

Notes: The paramedic decls has a firefighter badge and LSFD patches on both sides, unlike NPCs who have hospital patches.

(Marine 0_2, a Military general, has 3 head variants and two upprs. not Police related but still interesting enough)

I think Michael looks better in that one, the tie is a bit shorter and it has a better clip for it. Do those files still exist? Would it be possible to change Michael's uniform?

It may have been used in a mission or was a piece of equipment that the SWAT tams used but was cut. What do you think?

But there may be Cops N Crooks. A very slight, unconfirmed, completely speculative with little evidence, maybe.
