For All the Crown Vic Lovers

Because it was getting up there in years, very fuel-inefficient (important to police departments, whose cars get a TON of miles on them), unsafe, and generally becoming not cost-effective. The Crown Victoria isn't some archetypal police car, used by departments from the beginning of time. It was introduced in the 90s, and back then faced stiff competition from the Chevy Caprice (which, at the time, was probably *more* iconic as a cop car). The CVPI only became the "default" police car in the 2000s. Now, it's true that the full-size Ford sedan, whatever name it carried, has long been a police staple. But it's by no means been the only one, nor is it particularly the best.

I can not really think of any other vehicle that can be anywhere as significant as the Crown Vic. It's sad...

What makes the Crown Vic different from literally any other police car that, in its time, dominated the fleet market? The Crown Vic was by no means the first such car (unless you think cops walked beats and rode horses until 1992), and it won't be the last.

I think almost all of us grew up during '90s-'10. That was when media and hollywood rose and played a more significant role in people's lives than ever before. Since that was when Crown Vics also dominated the market and found places in most Police Departments' garages, for the media, the definition of police became- Crown Vics. Thats what they showed, and thats what we watched and fetishized ourselves with. Crown's no magical car. Its just that the situations and timings for it were right. Had Dodge been leading in this business at that time, you all would have been going gaga over Chargers by now and Crown Vics would have been nowhere to be seen.

Thank you for sharing the video and it's really sad to see the Crown Vic go but we knew it would happen one day. Hopefully we'll keep seeing them serving our local PD for a little bit more.

R.I.P Crown Victoria, you'll always be in my GTA world, I promise.

Why the f*ck did they discontinued making it? THERE IS NO CAR THAT WILL EVER REPLACE CROWN VICTORIA AS A POLICE!!!

Technology was VERY outdated, I raced a 2013 Mazda 3 in mine & got my ass handed to me, probably would have won at long distance, probably could have just over hauled the entire drivetrain/motor, but this day & age, it's all about the dollar.
