ELS 8 Confusion

My apologies if this is not posted in the correct section.

So now that I've got it installed, I'm having issues when I try to enter an ELS-enabled vehicle.  I'm guessing it's because the vehicle is V7 compatible and not V8 and, therefore, needs to be converted...that's where I'm having problems.

I'm not too clear on how to make them compatible from V7 to V8.  The "conversion guide" included with the download is not helpful for me.  It says "Must be converted to new format: X, Y, Z" but that means nothing to me.

Any help would be appreciated.

V7 Or V8 you should be able to enter the vehicle. If you locked the vehicle then you could have a problem.

Open up the default_config included with V8, and then your configurations for each car. You'll then need to locate and change the differences in wording/placement line by line.

How do you "unlock" them?

What do you mean by "configurations for each car"?

If you used configuration files for cars that you had when running ELS V7, then each file needs to be changed to work with ELS V8. But I'm not sure if this will fix your issue of locked vehicles.

Open your trainer and go to car options and unlock doors

"Unlock" here refers to IV's car door locks.

Also, it appears that the "new format X, Y, Z" means that the 3 lines in a v7 VCF:

Extra_*_X = foo
Extra_*_Y = bar
Extra_*_Z = baz
need to be changed into the one line:

Extra_* = foo, bar, baz

How do I go about finding the VCF?

This is all I have.  I do not see a VCF.  Am I missing something?

Yes, default_config(.ini) - that's your base VCF. Edited by EvilJackCarver
