Vehicles from my home town

Okay so now I understand that these "police_sign_1" files are the textures for each vehicle, and the more there are the more alternate liveries that vehicle can use, which are activated by the +livery addition to their name in the vehicles.ide, however, I am still not finding the exact location where I can find said "police_sign_1" files, what is their actual location, or rather, the location of the "textures" you mentioned above when you stated "look through your textures"? I checked via Spark IV the only areas that were labeled "textures" in the GTA IV folder but neither of them had anything called "police_sign_1" so, where exactly are these "police_sign_1" files located? Like what part of my GTA IV folder can they be found? I cannot seem to find them for some reason.

They're in the vehicles' .wtd files, which you learned how to access earlier. If you scroll through the files (textures) in the .wtd, you'll find the liveries named "police_sign_[1-4]." You want to make sure to replace those when you want to replace a livery, which you do by having the "police_sign_#" file selected before you press import.

  • Here is a video on the process......

  • Before you click on the .WTD file, click on "edit" it's on the top right and it will give you those options.

  • No problem. If you replace the car texture, it will be there permanently, if using a multi-livery vehicle, be sure to add +livery in your vehicles.ide (in common>data) I recommend that you replace

They should be in the .WTD file, they are .PNG files (photos) it's could be "tahoe_sign_1" or "police_sign_1" or anything, and vehicles.ide is located at common>data>cdimages

I'll be damned. A police vehicle in the state of New York with red and blue lights. Quite rare.

Huh, that is odd. It's actually law that emergency vehicles only have red or white forward facing lights. Forward facing blue lights are for volunteer firefighters only. Emergency vehicles can only have rear facing blue lights.

From http://www.safeny.ny.gov/emer-vt.htm

4. Blue light.  a. One blue light may be affixed to any motor vehicle owned by a volunteer member of a fire department or on a motor vehicle owned by a member of such person's family residing in the same household or by a business enterprise in which such person has a proprietary interest or by which he or she is employed, provided such volunteer firefighter has been authorized in writing to so affix a blue light by the chief of the fire department or company of which he or she is a member, which authorization shall be subject to revocation at any time by the chief who issued the same or his or her successor in office. Such blue light may be displayed exclusively by such volunteer firefighter on such a vehicle only when engaged in an emergency operation. The use of blue lights on vehicles shall be restricted for use only by a volunteer firefighter except as otherwise provided for in subparagraph b of this paragraph.

b. In addition to the red and white lights authorized to be displayed pursuant to paragraph two of this subdivision, one or more blue lights or combination blue and red lights or combination blue, red and white lights may be affixed to a police vehicle, fire vehicle, ambulance, emergency ambulance service vehicle, and county emergency medical services vehicle provided that such blue light or lights shall be displayed on a police vehicle, fire vehicle, ambulance, emergency ambulance service vehicle, and county emergency medical services vehicle for rear projection only. In the event that the trunk or rear gate of a police vehicle, fire vehicle, ambulance, emergency ambulance service vehicle, and county emergency medical services vehicle obstructs or diminishes the visibility of other emergency lighting on such vehicles, a blue light may be affixed to and displayed from the trunk, rear gate or interior of such vehicles. Such lights may be displayed on a police vehicle, fire vehicle, ambulance, emergency ambulance service vehicle, and county emergency medical services vehicle when such vehicles are engaged in an emergency operation. Nothing contained in this subparagraph shall be deemed to authorize the use of blue lights on police vehicles, fire vehicles, ambulances, emergency ambulance service vehicles, and county emergency medical services vehicles unless such vehicles also display one or more red or combination red and white lights as otherwise authorized in this subdivision.

Look at section b :P

I did: "...one or more blue lights or combination blue and red lights or combination blue, red and white lights may be affixed to a police vehicle, fire vehicle, ambulance, emergency ambulance service vehicle, and county emergency medical services vehicle provided that such blue light or lights shall be displayed [...] for rear projection only."

Eh who cares though lol. They've been doing it for YEARS, and New York State hasn't stopped them since, so eh, who be caring?

They set those laws for a reason! If you don't obey the laws, there will be consequences, in NY there is a red and blue monster who gets summoned every time a police vehicle activates read and blue lights, you are killing innocent people, so plz stahp! lol

I mean, I could *attempt* to do the models, if they aren't ridiculously time consuming like my hometown's. I'll give it a shot, but I strive for accuracy, so I think I'll have to find some more videos tomorrow morning and go off of there. Just to clarify, I haven't promised anything. Try not to nag at me for not doing them in the end, please :P

Not sure there are many more videos beyond the one I showed you in this post, however, if you could try it'd be greatly appreciated! But, so do you think you can still work on making the models then despite the lack of videos?

Just another department's "fuck you" to the NYS laws. I don't see the point in only red or white lights. It makes no sense.

I agree. It doesn't look as flashy/awesome as red and blue lights lol. I hope the next Governor removes that law, it truly isn't necessary, and the NYPD which I think is the only if not one of the only police department's around that actually follow that NYS rule could use some red and blue lights on their cars as well, red and white just doesn't look as flashy or awesome as blue and red, but that is just my opinion.

Here's What I have so far.

Wow! Like I said in the private message, that looks all right! You should definitely continue trying to make the vehicle skins and you should definitely continue working on this project, because like I said, those skins are looking pretty awesome as of currently to me! You sure you cannot continue working on the skins anymore? They are really looking really good to me!

New york police cars with blue lights in the front??? what is this sorcery?

Welcome to 'Murica where not all rules or laws made by the government, whether state or federal, are always followed, even by police forces and other emergency services themselves.

The CVPI Is done. Here's the rendering.

EDIT: I have done the rest of the models also. I will attach them below. I have a few questions.  I will separate by model.

Dodge Charger) Do you want the small 110 or the big 110 on the back of the vehicle?

Chevy Tahoe) Do you like the size of the side emblem or would you like this bigger?

If you have anymore things to add or edit let me know.

Thanks,
