Hello to all LCPDFR developers:

  Before I start, I want to declare, I am not a modder, so I don't know if these can be accomplished, but I would love to see these in future versions of LCPDFR.

 

Number 1: smarter fugitives.

What I mean by that is, the suspect don't crash after 2 minutes max and jump out, that doesn't usually happen in real life, chase go on for HOURS. The cops are bad as well, when they already boxed the suspect in, they move away so the suspect move out and continue. If possible, it would be nice to see three cars executing a box maneuver on.....say......Algonquin Bridge and I move up to shoot our the tires.

 

Number 2: Spike Strip roadblock

There is a spike strip mod right now, but only the player can deploy it, and with the current version: V2, you can't pull it back if the suspect goes around it or missed it. If possible, being able to call in a spike roadblock would be sweet.

1. This has been brought up countless times before. It is possible to slightly improve the driving and AI, and LCPDFR has done this. The rest is hardcoded. 

 

2. Seems like a lot of trouble for nothing. LCPD doesn't use spike-strips, they shoot the tires out.

Thank you for replying sir, but I think having spike strip would make it more realistic. The user wouldn't have to use it if they don't want to. Probably a option in installer, I would look forward to it.

And don't forget the really fun paperwork that comes with the job! that's be fun and realistic to add as well.

I wouldn't mind having to fill out hours of paperwork. Being able to right down "Well I started my normal beat as usual, then some guy wearing sweatpants and a dirty jacket came flying down the street in a flaming station wagon and proceeded to pay a prostitute for sexual pleasures all while his stupid cousin was in the back screaming about bowling. It was a good day."

Actually most chases are extremely short, usually 2-3 minutes, 10 minutes tops. You only see lengthy ones because that's what gets aired on TV. And the only reason those go on for so long is due to the P.D.'s pursuit policy. The LAPD and CHP policies are non-aggressive. This means that they do not ram people or follow closely at extremely high speeds unless the suspect does something dangerous enough to the public to warrant it; such as hitting another car or ramming a cruiser.

 

This is an average "aggressive" pursuit:

Also, if the chase is too dangerous to the public, departments often back off. Car chases are really, really dangerous, to innocent bystanders as well as to the suspect and police. A fair number of departments will only get into a high-speed chase if the person is suspected of a violent felony.

Absolutely right. A great example is the YouTube channel 'Crimewood'. That department has a regular habit of terminating pursuits (you'll see after you watch their videos) when I would have made the call to continue them, such as during late nights with nobody on the roads and dry conditions. Some supervisors have the stomach for it and others don't. You'll constantly hear updates of traffic conditions and road conditions in those videos. A lot of departments figure that if they get the plate, that's enough to track the person down. But that doesn't always work if the driver isn't the perp. It's a tough call sometimes

  Well, guys, I have to admit, I love these suggestions, but I'm not that much into police works, so thanks for teaching me. Speaking of paper works, I have a suggestion as well. 

  I personally play FSX from Microsoft. When you file a flightplan in real world, you need to calculate the fuel on board and all that, but in the game, it will help you with that. After knowing how to use it and the navigation type. I can go through a normal flight planning in less than a minute. So maybe LCPDFR can do something like they did in Police Force 2, you select if you are a SWAT officer or a highway patrolman etc., then you will receive the top 10 most wanted, and if you can find them and arrest your rank go up. In the end of the day, LCPDFR automatically save the time on duty and rank up accordingly.

Record chase duration in GTA IV, 5 minutes and a half, before the suspect driving a Dilante manage to come a round the underpass on the western side of Algonquin near the safehouse and slams into a Bobcat at 80 miles a hour, scary.
