LCPDFR Diagnostic Tool

Recommended Posts

The tool has not successfully given me a log file ever since I updated to 1.0b. Here are some procedures I followed and I'm not sure why there is an error.

1)GTA IV Directory>LCPDFR Folder>Run tool>Check for Installation>Critical Error: 0x1

2) GTA IV Directory>LCPDFR Folder>Run tool as ADMIN (right clicked then ran)>Check for Installation>Critical Error: 0x1

3) GTA IV Directory>LCPDFR Folder>Run tool as ADMIN (right clicked then ran)>Tick advanced mode>Check for Installation>Browse game folder>Searched and clicked gtaiv.exe>Check successful and I click open log file>tool stops working

4) GTA IV Directory>LCPDFR Folder>Run tool>Tick advanced mode>Check for Installation>Browse game folder>Searched and clicked gtaiv.exe>Check successful and I click open log file

Is there something I am doing wrong?

Yes, I have lcpdfr installed correctly and the game works fine.

Yes, I have Microsoft.WindowsAPICodePack.dll along with the tool in my LCPDFR folder

Hello,

I've no idea why it crashes upon log creation. Could you please share the details the "XXX has stopped working" dialog provides?

Looks to me it runs on .NET 4.0 for some reason while it should run on 4.5. I'm not sure if that's the crash reason here, but that's all I know.

It has nothing to do with LCPDFR and I'm not sure why it crashes for you, sorry.

To possibly help with this, for some reason my diag tool is now doing the same thing ever since I reinstalled w/ the dsound (pretty sure completely unrelated though), it's throwing me the "Critical Error: 0x1", but no crash of the app so much as a soft close.  I can confirm as well looking at the .dll load for the process that mine is also trying to pull from .NET 4.0 instead of 4.5.

Perhaps worse, when I went to look at my event viewer logs to see (despite it seemingly soft-crashing, figured I'd check), I noticed my previous crashes from the game itself.  It appears the game and the actual LCPD:FR also are using .NET 4.0 instead of 4.5;

I had a closer look and it turns out .NET 4.5 just overwrites the content in 4.0 hence the same name. As for error 0x1, it failed to automatically find your game installation (reg keys missing), tick advanced mode checkbox and manually navigate to your installation.
