Looking For Mods To Go With LCPDFR

Hello,

I am really starting to get into GTA4 on a PC now that I have a powerful system that can handle it! It is soooo much more fun than it was on my PS3 for some reason. Anyway, I am about to dive into LCPDFR and I am very pumped. The thing is, I want to "amp" up the reality so I am looking for a few recommendations on mods. There are so many of them out there for each of the areas I am looking for so all I can do is ask some of you fine people what you use and why.

1. Weapons mod. I want realistic weapon damage for both me and the AI. You know, 1 to 2 shots with pistol and you are kaput. Assault rifles and shotguns and it is mostly 1 shot. This kind of thing.

2. Realistic vehicle damage. I know that this may cause the pursuits to be a little short because of the AI hitting everything but I would like to try it anyways. I dont mind the cars handling as is but if it tweaks that then that is okay too.

3. Weapon sounds. This one is VERY subjective so I will look at youtube but any recommendations is great. I want LOUD!

Anyways I look forward to hitting the streets when I get everything the way I want it and swapping stories with you guys. Great job Devs!

For the first point, LCPDFR has a built in mode called Hardcore which will significantly increase the damage the player takes from AI weapon discharge. The setting will also apply Natural Motion physics relevant to the damage sustained just like when you shoot at a ped.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

A few I use that don't effect performance in any noticible way. (some have been mentioned)

Real recorded gun shot sounds

Real recorded helicopter sounds

Realistic car handling

Batton mod (replaces baseball bat with police batton)

Dashcam mod (for setting up speed traps)

Less overtaking (when stopped at traffic lights reduces for a time the chance that another car crashes into you from behind)

No intro mod (speeds up game start by removing intro)

I mod the car I am driving too, normally the fbi slot to avoid too many of them appearing on screen at once. Though that will impact performance as will any modded cars that have a higher poly count than the origionals)

Also I use uniform mods for police

Can you PM me a link to the sound packs please? I found the no intro one but no sound packs

A guy who uses these forums and also makes some entertaining vids put a mod pack together a while ago as everyone kept asking him for links to stuff. Some of the stuff in there is out of date now such as the LCPDFR download, but in that pack you will find real recorded gunshots, real helicopter sound, a siren mod (horns) and realistic driving. if your new to this then installing the sound files is easiest place to start.

You will need a program such as sparks to instal these. If your not familiar there are tutorials on how to use sparks and instal car textures, sound files, weapon mods etc etc.

Anyway, linky: http://www.mediafire...xefnpfhuw5hrjyd

As I said not my mod pack and as the link is still diplayed on some of his you tube vids I see no harm directing you towards it. :)

Realistic driving requires no special instal program. that one is just a case of replacing files. Read the read me file in that folder and alway make a back up before modding. I make a copy of the entire gta folder. All 15 gig of it. That way I have every origional file in it's correct place so finding an origional if something goes wrong is easy.

Here are some mods that I have, they do amp up the realism to an extent.

-Indicator Script. Great one recently done by someone on this forum (name escapes me, but I thank him greatly!) Also helps set up convincing traps at night time (can turn off the headlights), as well as properly follow traffic regulations now.

-Traffic Flow (allows for you to let the game spawn 20 vehicles of your choice, this is good if you use modded vehicles, as it does fix the Police Car/Taxi Cab bug which causes mostly Taxi Cabs or Cop Cars to load up.) I find it great since it helps really diversify the traffic for me (though I wish that there were more than 20 slots).

I've also been considering another mod that help in vehicular realism:

Fuel Mod:

Actually, I'll download it now, if anyone wants to know what I think about it, feel free to ask!

As far as the fuel mod itself, it seems to work fine (though doesn't show the display that you see on the right side of the screen with the digital fuel status and speedometer, just the fuel gauge in the bottom left), but you can refuel at gas stations and get repaired there without having to go to the nearest Pay and Spray (which can be god knows how far from you) or typing "heal" in the console. It does show the gas gauge under the radar though.

There is also another gas mod I tested out last night, one that does diversify the fuel burn between other vehicles, and comes with a spiffy spedometer (and one that will actually show up, unlike SpeedoIV)/RPM gauge/Fuel Gauge. This one also has a few other options, like manually starting the vehicle, but because it has light functions as well, and they seem to interfere with the indicator script, I went back to the more simple fuel mod.

Personally, all I need now is a Speedometer that shows mph that actually works. Tried that SpeedoIV ever since I got it, and still can't get it to work. Anyone know a properly working alternative (without having to get SNT)?

Simple native trainer 6.3 its great for noobs you can spawn weapons change the time, and why are you wasting your time reading this when you could be off to install it :P

Well, I'm ok with the game as it is now, I don't need anything like SNT. The Opening Poster was asking for stuff to help enhance the realism, and I don't recall anything like an Indicator script or fuel mod in the game. In fact a lot of the stuff recommended in the thread, you can't really do with SNT to begin with.
