  • I do appreciate the extra effort that's gone into the trolling after we've acknowledged it...   It's a shame, I'd rather not leave this abomination up for all to see, but perhaps it better illustrat

  • People get pretty ridiculous about "their" stuff. I see people who take a totalitarian view on content control almost as much of a detriment to their respective communities as the "unapologetic thieve

That's what people fail to understand. This "commotion" isn't over a video game, it's about something that was made by somebody who spent many hours(days, weeks, months) researching and creating(not modifying). I don't play GTA IV, so it makes no difference to me wither something of mine is released or not. However, to me that work is not appreciated when people reduce it to something seemingly insignificant by saying "it's just a game" or "the models are based on copyright designs so you have no real standpoint". The ripping/theft may or may not be very important to you, but it's important to somebody and that's all that matters.

It depends on a person's point of view what he/she considers as important in life. Anyways, this is not about that. IMO, the people who never contributed in the development of Microsoft have no right to tell Gates to abandon it all and retire to Nilgiri hills. Don't judge someone or their work if you haven't been in their boots ever. Besides, all those who were giving that advice have not a single thing made from scratch or anything uploaded to the database with a considerable amount of work done in it. I cracked up while writing this.

Damn, that was sweet of you. And thanks for proving my point. I don't want to preach others and then do the same thing myself. I keep my files to myself. Mainly to avoid what is actually the root of this thread. Like I said,"You never know about others unless you've stepped in their boots". So not uploading files on the website doesn't make me a non-modder anymore than standing in a garage makes you a car.
