First Gaming PC for GTA 4?

Featured Replies

How should GTA 4 with mods run on this pc? I have all the parts and building it this weekend.

Specs

AMD FX 8320 3.5ghz 8-core

Windows 7

8gb RAM

Case Fans etc

EVGA GeForce GTX 760

Asus mboard

120gb SSD

1TB HDD

Thanks.

Oh shit, that's a nice PC. It should be able to run GTA on high settings. However, some people using high-end PCs have had issues with restrictions on settings, it can be simply fixed by using line in a text document called "commandline.txt":

-norestrictions

What fan? I have the AMD 4.4 GHz 8-core and it runs really warm. I just got liquid cooling yesterday but keep in mind that you'll have to spring for good cooling.

Most systems don't even use 700 watts at full load anyway unless you're running SLI or 3 cards.

You're looking at around 300-400 watts MAX when playing something like Battlefield 3 or running a really intensive benchmark.

My PC doesn't even reach over 100 watts running Prime 95 and SI Software.

He will need atleast a 600w. Its a nice PC. Although I have read that the 8-Cores dont really outperform Intel's quad yet. Its a minute difference.

It looks great, but personally i would pick an intel processor over AMD anyday

Really, i have an intel quad core that runs gta at 60 to 55 FPS with mods, then my friend has an AMD 8 core and he runs gta at 100 to 120 FPS with the same mods!!

I dont know where you read that but its deff not true!!!

Same components? GPU, RAM, HDD vs SSD? Same programs? There are a bunch of variables.
