Civ cars to have sirens or Added cars

Featured Replies

I know that you can enable ELS for civilian vehicles, but can you enable sirens for civilian cars?
Like, if you want to add a second firetruck into the game, and if you want sirens to work on it.

How do you get that to work?

You can replace nstockade or pstockade with a firetruck. I replaced both slots.
You can add the handling line by inserting the name along with the handling line for the model.

NOOSE      1700.0  7.5  85
NSTOCKADE     6500.0  4.0
ORACLE     1800.0  5.5  85

PRIMO    1700.0  3.6   85
PSTOCKADE      10000.0 4.0
RANCHER     2500.0  7.0

Next go into vehicle.ide and change: STOCKADE,    PSTOCK,  -->  PSTOCK,    PSTOCK,   the same for nstockade.
That tells it to use the new handling instead of the default stockade line. Since all stockades share the same handling line.

I think if you are using ELS, it's possible to use the siren. Since I'm not currently using ELS I could be wrong.

Yeah. What I was trying to say was. Let's say I was to add into the Admiral spot a police car. I did all the handling and ELS and all that.

I get the lights working but no siren. Just the horn. So I was trying to figure it out.

I don't think you can use a siren on a civilian car slot, unless there is a line in the vehicle data that defines if it is an emergency car or not.

I've checked through the model flags in the handling file, none of them say "IS_EMS" etc.

As a result I can only conclude that this feature is hard coded into the game (I may be wrong though)

Your best option then is to replace an EMS vehicle with your new fire truck and edit all the handling lines yourself. For example a guide I just read teaching you how to do so, replaced "police3" in GTA IV (which is a registered but unused slot, due to EFLC using it) with the new firetruck.

Otherwise you will just have to pretend your admiral car you turned into a firetruck has a siren. I imagine someone sitting there making fire truck noises while playing GTA IV lol.

Alternatively, you could change the horn for that car I guess? But then you will have all the admirals you replaced with fire trucks blaring sirens at silly times.
