How to remove earpiece!?

Featured Replies

I've downloaded a ped from here, with that earpiece and tried removing the texture for it, to see if that removed it from the OpenIV Model Viewer, and it didn't.

Based on this result, I think ineseri is correct.

The earpiece comes with that model, and can't be removed.

I think it can be added and removed in-game, via the Simple Trainer. (Haven't tested this)

It depends on the model. If the earpiece is a separate model that is added to the ped, then it can be added and removed with the 'special' part in the clothes menu in Simple Native Trainer. If it is part of the model, you cannot remove it. I'm not sure how the earpiece is handled on that model, but will attempt to check right now.

Edit: Hmm, this is odd. The earpiece is on as an extra part according to OpenIV, but it cannot be removed with SNT. Let me try some things and I'll get back to you once again.

Sorry, but I can't seem to figure anything out about this. I guess you could completely remove the model and textures for the earpiece from the archive, then update the ped data files to reflect that. I'm not sure of all of the steps to accomplish this though, so I couldn't tell you exactly what to do.

Unless there's an alternate thing for that slot, you can't remove the earpiece. SNT can't remove a ped component; it can just cycle it among the options. Where it looks like one is removed, there's a tiny cube at the center of the model that replaces it.

If you were really set on removing the earpiece from the ped entirely, you could use openIV to export the model to open formats, delete that part of the model and any references to it, and then re-build it without it. There's a tutorial for altering ped components somewhere in the forums.

I guess I'm stuck with it then since I know very little about modelling (wouldn't even know how to go about trying to remove it from the file) although I think somebody has done it before and added it to a cop pack but I can't really remember which one...

Anyways thanks guys for your input, cheers!
