Deciding on the Right Vehicle

Featured Replies

Well, I have been saving up and want to start looking for a vehicle.

I have decided on getting a Jeep. Not sure about the model or year yet and am not asking for that.

What I want to know is what Jeep would YOU recommend.

I surf, mountain bike, go to the mountains and do a LOT of highway/city driving.

I am thinking about possibly getting a 2014 for better gas mileage but am more curious on what everyone thinks is the better vehicle for a male and very active person. Price and all that will be worked out down the road.

Currently considering one of the following, with black on black interior.

http://www.jeep.com/en/2014/wrangler-unlimited/#model=rubicon&color=black&top=no-top

http://www.jeep.com/en/2014/wrangler/#model=rubicon&color=black&top=no-top

http://www.jeep.com/en/2014/patriot/#model=limited&color=black

Thoughts?

I can provide more info if necessary, I just currently want to narrow down my top 3 to either one or top 2.

I think by the way that you have briefly described yourself, you might best enjoy the Jeep Wrangler. It's a very versatile Jeep, and it's a fun cruising vehicle, especially in the summer. Also, the obvious Jeep-ing is the most fun you can have with it. Don't even get me started on "customizing" a Jeep.

But because you mentioned that you drive a lot, you have to ask yourself if you'd better benefit from better gas mileage, or a cool car that can have its roof and doors removed, and that can run over things and park in the coolest places. Either way, it'll be a tough choice. Plus, everyone knows the Wrangler is the coolest Jeep.

I have always been a Jeep lover and hope to get a Wrangler Unlimited in my near future. I personally just find the 4 doors much more appealing than the 2 doors.

I never liked the look of the Patriot, so I'm sorry that this post was very biased.

Go with the Wrangler, its has that 'off roading' look to it. where as the Patriot looks more like a city SUV

Thanks guys.

I really do love the Wrangler Unlimited, not much of a fan of the two-door though.

I have a lot of experience with Jeeps as the current place I work at uses the 2-door as their main vehicle.

I need to decide if I want the outdoors look or general city car look and plan on heading over to a Jeep dealership after finals.

I would love to hear more statements/recommendations if you have them. I will more than likely not make up my mind until after going to the dealership but the more I can hear from people not getting paid to sell the vehicle the better!

@OL, I am interested in almost all the Jeeps. Feel free to share!

Jeep Compass are pretty nice but, gas guzzlers along with every vehicle that's either 4 wheel drive, AWD or a Crown Vic .......

ok 31 years in the car industrie, by what your saying i would go with the 4 door wrangler for its of road capability and reasale value. i personnaly own a 4 wd patriot limited fully equip but its not the best for off road but for were i live its great, 30 below today  thats and 6 inches of snow so a 4x4 is a must .i was a salesman and finish my last 15 years as a sales manager in a jeep .dodge chrysler dealership, but my boss own's 17 different dealership so almost every make  and my first choice for a 4x4 is always going to be a jeep.

that would be my choice!!!!
