18 LA County Sheriff Deputies Face Federal Charges

Featured Replies

I read this in the paper this morning, and normally I'd be on the side of the cops, but if what the FBI says is true, then I have to say that the behavior of the deputies is inexcusable. Have they forgotten who they have sworn to protect?

Unfortunately it isn't unheard of for these things to happen. I'm sure this scandal has an aspect of truth to it, somewhere. Perhaps it isn't as bad as the FBI are trying to make it appear but either way, I wouldn't be surprised if there are few bad apples in there.

Good I hope they all get fired, and sent to prison.

I've heard a lot of accusations of abuse in that jail system from other sites I visit. This really doesn't surprise me, and it is probably much more officers involved.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

Yeah, on the radio they said that even a lieutenant had been arrested and that violence was "institutionalized" in the prison.

One LA Times commenter by the username of 'ahfsdfh' said "Put them in the general [prison] population if they are found guilty." How do you think that might work out?
