It depends how and where you wear it, I'm not familiar with the laws in US so I'm getting this completely off research so I could be wrong. Anyway, from what I understand as-long as you don't have it visible and you're not going around asking people for their ID's, it's not illegal. If you do have it visible then it will probably fall under "impersonating a police officer", which is a rather serious offense.

It would constitute impersonating a police officer. The badge is a symbol of public trust and honor. If you haven't earned it, don't wear it. Plus, you could always be targeted by gangs and other that hate us. Just collect em and keep em at home.

Are you serious? You want to walk around wearing a police badge across your neck? I dont know where your from but around here in the US thats a crime, and blank firing pistols? You wanna wear one of them too? Your lucky if you dont get shot by the real police. That in my opinion is just not smart, at all.

Do NOT wear a badge in public if you are not entitled to it. If anyone can see it, it absolutely is impersonating an officer.

And it depends. If the pistol has the capability to fire real bullets, it is a firearm, even if you load it with blanks. If not (like if it's a starter gun), it probably isn't a firearm for regulatory purposes, but would likely count as a firearm/a deadly weapon for most more serious offenses (brandishing a firearm, armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, etc.) In addition, carrying a fake gun as though it is real is an excellent way to discover that police have guns which are NOT fake.

In short: Going outside with a police badge and a starter pistol is an exceptionally bad idea. The badge is an excellent way to get the felony charge of impersonating a police officer. The starter pistol is an excellent way to not be charged with anything, because you've been shot dead.

If you point a firearm, be it fake or real, at any person or even show it as a threat or in a public place, you can be arrested. (Threat with lethal firearm or imitation of it in the first case, possession of a concealed firearm or imitation in the second, public mischief in the third.)

As for the badge, impersonating an officer of the peace, shall it be a marshal, sheriff, federal agent or police officer, is considered as impersonating an officer of the law. In some countries even a security guard badge may require to have the proper training/qualification. Prison guards, border guards and custom officers badges are also illegal to reproduce in most countries. If you are in the US, you may want to consult with your county or city or state to know what kind of badge are legal.

One thing is sure though, if you even PRETEND by you actions to be a law enforcement member, you may end up prosecuted.

So my best advice to you is keep it to the game and try to re-apply in at least five years. In the meantime do not commit any other felony.

well it looks stylish in my opinion and I so wish I was a police officer but I miss my calling with a felony.

police officers are overrated . Become a soldier they are the real heroes.

Can felons posses blank firing guns? They are not real firearms and cannot be converted to shoot projectiles. Under federal law a firearms is considered to be anything that shoots projectiles.

Federal and state unlawful assault I accidently used a bb gun

Isn't this a question to ask a lawyer from your own state, not a global community?

While I highly advise against relying solely on any posts on this site, guns are modified to fire blanks, but they can be modified back, which would cause an issue and most likely prevent a felon from legally possessing one. Some things a felon could own for self defense (depending on state of course) are a crossbow, Airsoft guns, baseball bats, or paintball guns.

According to US law, it is illegal for all felons to posses a firearm. Since blank firing guns are actual guns, only modified, it would still be a felony.

Are you trolling or do you seriously have a felony, and so much in love with the NYPD/Law Enforcement that you are willing to impersonate them.

I am not an expert/lawyer, this should not be in any fashion considered legal advise.

That said, if you truly are a felon, being in possession or the above said items. I am sure there are plenty of L.E.O.s that would haul you in for impersonation of law enforcement and let you fight it in court.

It may even be within the moderators moral/ethical grounds to verify this information and possibly turn it over to local authorities before this individual takes it upon himself to impersonate a L.E.O. and/or possibly cause serious harm by doing so.

As stated above, do not wear a badge outside. Why? It's fricking stupid to start with, pardon my french and secondly: If you are seen with a badge, someone may rush to you requesting help. What are you gonna do then? Just say "Oh, I'm sorry, I just have this badge that is supposed to symbolize law, security and order for fun". Or if something actually happens and people around you will rely on you to defuse the situation.  Maybe they won't even bother calling the cops because, hey, one is already on the scene. Badge, gun and all. You're not acting cool with a badge like that, you are potentially risking lives.

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

So my best advice to you is keep it to the game and try to re-apply in at least five years. In the meantime do not commit any other felony.

No good. Under federal law, convicted felons are barred for life from possessing firearms. That means that no state or department could allow them to ever be police officers, even if the state/department felt sufficient time had elapsed.

ok also are blank firing pistols considered firearms

A pistol of any sort is classed as a firearm. Police will not be able to make a quick judgement on its firing capabilities.

Hello everyone I was thinking of collecting police badges from all police states. I was wondering if I were to wear a police badge around my neck would that be illegal.

About 45 minutes ago you just said you were a convicted felon or something. Now you want to wear police badges around?

Yes it is a illegal and its classified as impersonating a police officer (which in fact is another felony) (almost always leads to a prison sentence)

I don't knon what you are up to, but to me it sounds like you know you screwed up and your not going to become a cop so your just going to impersonate one.

personally I think the admins of the site should track down your computer IP and report you. As from what it sounds like you are planning to impersonate a police officer. Which again is illegal.

And yes the others are right you have no chance at becoming a police officer or military. Pays to think before you act doesn't it?

But i don't deserve to be a felon. I made a mistake, I just took a plea bargain in fear of going to prison. I never been to prison before prior to the incident and from what I heard its a terrible place I freaked out and just took the plea bargain. That was my first offense didn't receive any jail time. I am just on probation.

If I go to the army and come out alive. I can get a governors pardon, and go straight into the police force. Or at least get my gun rights. I know 5 felons that have done so. Why are police such assholes

Well that's your opinion.

And FYI if you have a felony you aren't allowed to be accepted into the department. Might be different where you live or where you want to work but that's usually the "standard" qualification in Europe & North America.

Edit:

Los Angeles Police Department Officers are entrusted with responsibility to keep our cities safe from crime and corruption. Therefore, a history of ethical and moral behavior is of the utmost importance. Your background will be looked at very closely. Candidates who have a history of unethical or immoral behavior will not be hired. You will be subjected to an intensive background evaluation, which will include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Your past behavior and the choices you have made must demonstrate positive traits that will support your candidacy for Police Officer and reflect favorably on your character.
  • You must have a history of lawful conduct.

No you won't get into the army you have a felony on your record. Why in hell would the governor make a pardon for someone like you when there are hundreds if not thousands of better people out there who actually think before they act? The police aren't the assholes your just a dumbass..

Once again i'll say this in bold, YOUR NOT GOING TO GET INTO THE ARMY, YOUR NOT GOING TO GET INTO THE POLICE FORCE.

You don't commit a felony by accident, its called thinking. Also what crime(s) did you get charged with? Because I have a feeling your bull shitting us right now about you being convicted.
