[Solved] Freeze And Stops Working

So yeah my GTA IV with mods will sometimes stop responding and freeze. Usually does within 20 minutes. It's annoying and I can't play the game with mods, is it normal for game to always crash when mods are on?

Did you ran an benchmark? I also don't know your pc specs ofcourse, but could it be that your cache is full ( Not enough ram / Vmemory ) Just a wild guess, but i can imagine if that isn't alot that the game says to itself : get lost restart me so i have memory again

My specs are

 

CPU: i7-3610QM

GPU: GeForce GTX 675Ms

RAM: 12GB

I guess it's the Bad mods that you have installed, mods that have not been made properly and so it will make your game crash.

Well I got ELS, LCPD:FR, some scripts like BraveHeart's policing, Indicator script, traffic flow.

No... skyrim with mods works great for me, for example.

 

:smile:  and no don't have problems with vanilla version.

 

 

Did you try to install it step by step, so first LCPD:FR go in game to test it out. It works, install ELS, ( With 1 ELS enabled car ) it doesnt freeze after 20-30 min continue with mods. So you can isolate the problem.

Also an problem, if you have ELS cars, they can be High Polygon. So try to look in to that as well. From the pc specs i think you should be able to run a few cars from around the 50-80.000 polygons ( Maybe less )
The lower the polygons the stabler it gets ( Not as stable as vanilla of course but for some quality you need to sacrifice a few things )

Also anyway to found out the polygons number?

Hmmm Have you reinstall the game (if did how meany times you have), and run Reliability Monitor, and post you results here. (the code error,click on GTAIV on Reliability Monitor once it has finished loading)

Yeah a handy tool is OpenIV,

 

When you open up the .wft in that program ( Cdimages -> Vehicles ) and then the list of the vehicles you have edited.

 

Everytime you open up the .wft of the vehicle that you modified ( well every vehicle in the game ) it shows an amount in the left top corner 

 

I attached an file just to show you :-)

Crashes within 20 minutes are kind of normal, in my experience. That said, it's not a good thing and the amount of time you play should be increaseable somehow.

I`m always playing for an hour or so before i get the first notice of texture loss / citybug

 

Back on topic, it should be increasable  without to much things.

Okay so the polygons counts are as follows;

 

Police : 62 962

Police2: 118 740

Polpatriot: 70 118

FBI: 66 739

 

I'm gonna try playing with normal Police2 and see what happens. Could the game stop working because the Police2 car is a non-els?
