Okay, well, it looks like we've got a name. This is the update I got from CNN on my iPhone: "Suspect in the Los Angeles airport shooting is Paul Anthony Ciancia, a 23 year old from Los Angeles, the FBI says"

Since the incident is over I am removing the LIVE tag. The suspect apparently questioned civilians and anyone who said they weren't part of the TSA were spared. He only wanted to go after the TSA.

Edit: Also, thanks for staying (mostly) on topic and avoiding debates.

No disrespect intended, but every shooting seems suspicious to you.

Anyways, let's avoid debating the lack of quality in mainstream media or potential conspiracies.

However, if you want to debate about conspiracies, feel free to make a debate thread on that.

I seriously do not get why there have been 3 active shooting cases in this 2 month period...this is ridiculous

@tz71: If you keep calling every single shooting incident "fishy", I'm going to start pointing that out. Why not make a debate thread about why you think it's fishy?

@gamerdanger: Well, yeah. The federal government does have capital punishment; murdering a federal employee either when he's on the clock or because he's a federal employee is a federal crime, as is committing acts of violence at international airports; both can be punished by death if death results and if certain aggravating factors apply. From media reports (noting that nothing has been proven in a court of law yet), he asked people if they were TSA, implying targeting TSA official, giving all the necessary components of first-degree murder of a federal employee. The fact that he apparently shot multiple people is an aggravating factor, which can qualify him for a death sentence. That was clear as soon as we heard the TSA employee died.

Toning down my beliefs, the most politically correct thing I'm willing to say is that it has to do with the media demigodding every shooter, thus leading the next crazy to do stuff like this in an attempt to seek fame before his death.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

I just really wished people can do the right thing and not abuse their guns, because sooner or later, there will be new laws that will make some people angry.

I just want to get a Glock 19, when I turn 21....I'm two a half years away....
