Ordinary Game Close

When I play LCPDFR, 0.91 or 0,95, everything works fine. I got no lags or other issues.

After some Time of gameplay, my game Crashes, randomly. But not only crashes, my whole PC is *out*.

And it doesnt restart or reboot, its just Out--Power off. First I have a little Lag ingame, then after 1-2 seconds the Pc is out.

When i press the power button, it starts normal and i have to choose, how to start (normal, safe mode etc.).

So, maybe someone knows what to do?

My Pc Stats:

AMD Athlon II 4x 3.0 Ghz

8GB RAM

Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Ti >1GB

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Are you saying your computer just turns off about playing GTA for a shortwhile?

Right, that's what he means. He is playing well for some time and then gets a crash (time period seems to be random). The crash is no BTD/BSOD/freeze but his computer shuts itself down without any further message.

I gotta state that I have the same issue sometimes but I don't have it regularly (about 1/month). I thought it's been a disfunction of my components... hmmm dunno about this.

Seems to me like a overheating issue.

I used to get the exact same symptoms on my old laptop... sudden shut down without any warning..

But, yours is a PC by the look of those specs, so I'm not sure.

Processor: Intel i5-6600 @ 3.30GHz

GPU: MSI ARMOR GeForce GTX 1080 OC

Ram: 16GB Skylake

yes, i mentioned that too with overheating. Maybe its becouse of some sort of overclocking software? could that be?

and btw, when i play GTA 4 without LCPDFR activated, everything runs smooth without any issue. So maybe its becouse of the script and mod files?

so many things could be........

Sounds like overheating. I'd check your temps on GPU, CPU and Motherboard after a good play sessions (in excess of 30-40 mins, but before you crash completely so you can take temps). Then you can compare them to "cold boot" temps, and idle temps; Meaning the first time you turn on the PC for the day, and when the computer runs idle on the desktop for a few hours. Getting all three will give us a frame of reference as to whether your cooling solution is adequate or not.

a quick question:

you say overheating, so i have to ask: Overheat of my whole computer system? or just overheat of my Grafic Card? ( Because my Geforce has got its own Cooler, also i got 2 more coolers in my system.)

I mean, it could be overheating, yes indeed.

But seriously, if that would be the case, it would be crazy.

Because--> here an Update: Now my GTA4 crashes like mentioned above , without the mod activated.(randomly)

(and btw: on my old Laptop (2,5Ghz, 4GB Ram, Nvidia 1GB Ram, Windows Vista) , the game runs smooth for hours.(without script mods))

on my PC, Other games, with high grafics too, dont crash.

So i think it could be a problem just with GTA?? Maybe because of Windows7??

I doubt it. The whole computer doesn't overheat at once, individual parts do. Most high end graphics cards have a threshold of about 114 degrees Celcius, must CPUs around 70C, and most motherboards about 70C also. It will varry of course, depending on what model the card/cpu/mobo is and who made it, but your problem sounds like a heat issue and the computer rebooting itself to prevent toasting one of your components. I've had this issue more than once. First encounter was with a motherboard fan, then two seperate occasions with graphics cards. One was a card that ran naturally hot, the other was a broken ball bearing in the fan.

All modern graphics cards have fans, so yours isn't special. They need them. They get very, very hot.

I had this issue for a long time (it wound up being my graphics card). What do you see in windows event viewer?

Like others have said, this sounds like overheating to me. If you haven't already, you might want to try to check for dust in your system, as this can cause heat issues.

Someone also mentioned overclocking software...Are you overclocking anything? Because this would really cause things to heat up if the processer is being clocked too fast without proper heat-disspation in place, and could also cause other harm to your system.

If you overclocked something, then switch back to the default setting.

But you could test to reduce your GTA-ingame graphicsettings.

Problem Solved: Reason??

I checked everything about overheating. So, i started my Computer with open case. To check everything right up to date.

So i started playing and quit after 15min. Checked all components, all cool. Only my CPU was warm. Not hot, just warm. after some time, i checked everything again.

The CPU was hot at the back. And also i saw, that my CPU cooler wasnt running. I thought it was damaged.

I toke him out and checked the cooler AND: THE CABLE WASN´T STICKED IN!!!!!!!

i sticked it in, the cooler runs smooth as hell and everything is cool and fine now.

so, thanks for your help all, appreciated that

lovely greetz

Derp. Glad you fixed it, good luck going forward.
