You obviously haven't read previous posts, yes, he already did run the game as administrator.

Download and extract xlive.dll to your GTA IV root folder and delete dsound.dll if you have it.

Didnt Work, Did it in root folder and didnt have dsound.dll

Dont Worry, Heres What I Did, Installed 1.0.7.0 Again And Went To UAC And Turned That Off and it worked! Now Il Start Patroling Again!

Now I Got Same Problem When Rebooted

Go to your GTA IV folder > right click on LaunchGTAIV.exe > Properties > Compatibility and check 'Run this program as administrator', also do the same for the GTAIV.exe and launch the game.

 

my game seems to be doing the same. i click start and then the "starting a new game..." shows up but nothing happens. i've left there for over 20 minutes and nothing happens. someone please help
