Banned from Facebook D:

Featured Replies

Hey Guys!

Couple of nights back I got banned from Facebook for apparently using a fake name, However my name is legitt. It's my real name however Facebook keeps stating it's fake...I've tried to contact them about this being wrong but no response...

Any ideas?

I can't even make a new account because their system reads my name as fake... Storm Pedersen is my real damn name.

Also, How does Facebook even figure out my name is fake? That's the scary part.

So Yeah, How can I come back on Facebook with my real name? Any Ideas?

-Storm.

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Security reason? More like "HEY what does this big red BAN button do????" "Oh... crap..."

  • Facebook? Omg. -.- I hate this damn social networks, because I'm unsocial :P .

  • Lol My name is weirder and nothing has happened... Well you should wait for them to contact you, that's your best bet. They banned me one time for unknown reasons, and when I contacted them they told

They have people look at random names and rate them, so you don't get stuff like Peanut Eater and so on. Simply contact them and wait, that's all you can do.

Well as the others said, you best write them an e-mail and wait.. I'm glad I don't use Facebook, behh, they're no good.

I use facebook simply because it's worse not to have one. If you don't have a facebook you can't control what people that know you put up about you, which might lead to bad awakenings when looking for a job etc. That's why I have a facebook, I don't use it too much, but I check regularily and keep my photos clean and so on. Just to not have some negative presence in the internet when I go looking for jobs in a year.

This day and age, you really do need a facebook, as much as it sucks sometimes. I have deactivated mine over 5 times but ended up coming back each time because I need to keep up with family.

Can you use an accented 'O' for Storm? That may fix it right there. Other than that, try Google+. :P Although they are supposedly cracking down on fake names even harder there.

I made an account named Obi Ackbar (Star Wars FTW). They didn't tell me anything... for now.

They block the name Storm but not the name Obi Ackbar? It must be close enough to a real, widely used name....

I've sent a letter of complaint.

I know this might sound stupid but I can actually take this further, This is racism.. I know it's stupid guys but I love starting Wars with Companies.

My name is blocked, Storm is an old ancient Norwegian name. It's from the Viking times. Not many people in Norway bare the name, Just around 200 People.

I am actually proud of my name and I think it's cool. However Facebook does not see it as real, Please NOTE! I'm not being racist now I'm just putting an example you can have a name with something like Mohammed and something I can't even spell afterwards that may use up too 18 characters, Some people have names you can't even spell or say...

And they block my name for not being real? Even if you Google "Storm Pedersen" You can find some real people having that name for example a famous hair styler.

If Facebook does not listen to my E-Mail about my name being real, I'm going to give them a very hard time. lol.

Just to warn you, I had a similiar problem back about a year ago. My 'sister' and I used the family button thingy and set each other as each others sibling.

Facebook kindly responded by banning us for posting Pron/hate/raciest statements.

It took me a week to get a human, and 2 more days to get the ban un-done. The whole thing was security program that had glitched (and actually banned just about anyone who changed anything in the relationship tab that day). The biggest problem I have with facebook is that they have next to no customer support. it took a lot of googleing to get the message through.

Anyway, I don't recomend starting a flame war with them, unless you LIKE not haveing a facebook account.

Not flame war, A proper War with polite E-Mails stating how they are wrong and I am right.

I won't like start to bitch at them etc.

Good, that's what I did. All you really need to do is get past the waves of robots. I'll see if I can dig up the Email I used that got me results.
