Would people use skins?

Featured Replies

So, I was wondering. I don't have the game, however I have been making a few skins. None that were ever posted on here, but if I did would anyone on here use them? I also would like to have people make custom skin requests. If anyone were to use them, I would only ask for videos or pictures of them in game, both to see how they are (if they need tweaks) and of course just to see how they look in game.

Thanks

And if this is in the wrong fourm, my apologies.

Yeah, because we can't test them without a link (and tell what model it's for btw).

About releasing them on Downloads section, well, it's just my opinion, but it's not really serious to make textures while not having the game.

And I have to say that it's a bit weird to make skins for a game you don't play lol (but it's nice anyway), do you plan to buy it later ?

Oh yes, I'm currently working on finding a good cheap computer that can run it... But I just thought it would be neat to do some skins when I'm bored.

i make skins and i dont have the game working either....

Find someone who can test them out and post screenshots.

And it will be really hard for you to create skins without OpenIV/SparkIV.

its not hard to make skins without the game. just get templates and work with them... you don't need spark IV or anything with skins, modeling you do.

If the skins were something that really caught my eye and made me want to use them on my vehicles in game for sure. But as a graphic artist myself, I just usually make my own, but its always nice seeing other artists out their create ideas that you never thought of so, again it have to be something that caught my eye. But like others suggested, try getting the game and then making skins for the vehicles, so you know how they look, any errors that can be fixed before posting them up to the world to have.

Photoshop and in-game will look very different like others have said since shaders and other effects are added to the car to make it pretty and shiny (Lol).

By the way, i can run GTA IV at the most 30 FPS in built up areas, to 40 on the beach where you don't render anything except the sea, and i'm running on a 2.4ghz Dual Core (I'm upgrading soon to a 3.5 six core) and a GTS 450, which is worth about 200 pound with 4gb RAM and 320gb 50mb/s HDD.
