ELSv7 Effect problem

Featured Replies

I have a problem that just started a few days ago with ELSv7. It was working fine before with the same settings so im not sure what's causing it.

My ELS.ini settings can be seen here:

My police.ini settings can be seen here:

What my ELS lights used to look like and should look like:

And they currently look like:

Yes, I have installed ELS from scratch with a brand new download.

My visualsettings.dat is set to:

# Other emissive lights
car.defaultlight.emissive.on    10.00
car.defaultlight.emissive.off    0.05

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Increase car.defaultlight.emissive.on / car.extralight.emissive.on (this one can be necessary following your ENB or TimeCyc mod).

Mine are on 60, however you have a VisualSettings.dat provided in ELS7 archive so just copy and paste it.

Using the settings provided in ELSv7, I still get the same issue.

car.defaultlight.emissive.off    0.05
car.brakelight.emissive.on    18.00
car.brakelight.emissive.off    0.05
car.middlebrakelight.emissive.on    20.00
car.middlebrakelight.emissive.off    0.05
car.reversinglight.emissive.on    18.00
car.reversinglight.emissive.off    0.10
car.extralight.emissive.on    90.00
car.extralight.emissive.off    0.05

Don't know if it can be that, but untick read-only again for your ELS files and your VisualSettings.dat, for the moment I don't see what's wrong, your ELS files settings seems to be OK.

And be sure that you put the VisualSettings.dat in "..commondata".

EDIT : I see you're using EFLC, so paste the VisualSettings.dat in the folder mentionned above and in "..TBoGTcommondata" & "..TLaDcommondata" too.

This was all done before. Read only is still un-checked for everything.

I did go into TBoGTcommondata and I did replace them with the ELSv7 VisualSettings.dat. I didnt do it for TLAD, since I dont play it.

The result was that the lights look more faded as seen here:

But did you do it for both "TBoGT/common/data" folder and "EFLC/common/data" folder ?

---

Also, maybe you can try to set a vehicle on "default_config" instead of a custom VCF and trying it.

Yes, both TBOGT and EFLC VisualSettings.dat's are the same now.

Replaced the ELS.ini and default_config.ini with the stock versions and still have the "faded" look as before.

It's the visualsettings.dat

ELS v6 comes with one, try it.

That's why they look faded

lol, look the previous posts above :p

Nigell, try to install a fresh & clean GTA, because your issue is really weird and I don't know what's the problem here :/

Or tomorrow maybe I'll test it myself, if you give me a link for one of those cars.

I just re installed the game, it was working fine 2 days ago and today it's been doing this.

Still using the visualsettings.dat from ELSv6 in these screens. Using Cj24's cars here, still using stock ELSv7 ELS.ini and default_config.ini

try reinstalling sounds like you have a different timecycle mod which some of them can cause the lights to go dull

I dont have any sound mods or TimeCycle mods installed.

I have the same issue; I always assumed it was supposed to be like that.

Yes, if you are using Rockstar' default VisualSettings.dat or a visualsetting/timecyc mod which doesn't have Bloom enabled and Emissive lights increased.

lol really ?? That's weird guys.

Actually 200, sorry I used to use 600 but I fixed that issue, I do have a timecyc mod what could be a solution to maybe make these brighter? Is it going to need to be like that because of my timecyc mod?
