Looking at the screens and knowing the map will be the biggest its understandable why it will be a while before it hits PC.

CHP Motorcycles? And, least we confirmed the "Los Santos County". Very cool!

And those Troopers/Deputy Sheriff Uniforms are amazing!

I actually think R* came to this site and took a look at what we make and thought, "why don't we save them some time". The SUV looks amazing, so glad they added a Sheriff's department separate from the police department :D I can see they put much more detail in to the police vehicles, Eg. US flag on the rear of the SUV, Sheriff's badge looks detailed, unit numbers in more places than the roof, call 911 for emergency decals, LEDs on the SUV and what looks like a low profile LED lightbar on it too, ram bar on the white cruiser that freakishly resembles a crown vic (if you look hard enough) . All in all R* saw what the players want, and they actually listened and made decent police cars :)

Yes i agree but something they will never do is make the game so u can play like a cop like lcpdfr can and thats where this community will allways strive and be around as long as these games are.

Yeah but think of this. From watching the trailer it's clear that R* has come up with some LED flashing patterns for GTA V cop cars, before they used those stupid light bulb things and in san andreas some misty red and blue crap circling a typical police lightbar. Thats why we have to use ELS. In GTA V we won't need it because an ELS type thing is already in the game. R* also has made it so you can have a pet dog (clear from the trailers) so that eliminates the need for a K-9 script and only a model replacement, unless a fat rottie is cool for some police roleplayers :P My point is that R* has put in a lot of elements that simply need a model and texture replacement to become policing tools. And if you're someone like me who's laptop can run GTA IV decently, there's no way I could run GTA V. So I'll be looking to buy it for my 360 and I'm just glad police role-playing won't be so boring on console now :D

Yea that is true lol. I hope there will be some kind of roleplaying aspect of the game. Just wish it would be for PC.

Welp, guess the Sheriff department is confirmed. R* is doing a wonderful job of building up my anticipation.

In my own opinion. Grand Theft Auto is a game made by Rockstar to; Kill lots of people, steal cars and joy ride through the city with many cops chasing after YOU, rob banks and cluckin bells asort, and do many other illegal things. The point of the game is to commit crime. Trust me, if R* cared enough about the GTA Police modding community, they wouldn't go and make a DLC for their game built around committing crime. They would straight up create an entirely new game (maybe use the same engine as GTA) with an entirely new story and plot and it would be separate from GTA. GTA is, well GTA. It will never change from a game based on committing crimes to a game enforcing the law. It just wouldn't happen. Thats why they made LA Noire, so you could be the cop in an open sandbox game. Maybe they will make an LA Noire two were it is all modernized. That's the more likely thing to happen, rather than Rockstar changing the whole point of their best selling game series to enforce the law. Just wont happen. If you want to write to Rockstar about making a cop game. Ask them to make a modern LA Noire for PC.

The only police roleplay in V will be the tried and tested formula

  1. Steals Police Car
  2. Accesses very small database
  3. Chases and kills random ped
  4. ????
  5. Repeat.

Thats kinda stupid on their part don't you think? You would think they would actually take suggestions in to consideration. If they make what the people want, they'll sell more games, then again it all depends on how many people suggest the same thing. If 300 of us write to rockstar saying we want a modern police role-playing game or the same thing within GTA. Sadly they'll probably just brush us off because GTA sells like 20 million copies ever release, so we're kind of insignificant :(

that`s what i`m saying, its sad to see that some people don`t care. but it is cool they are putting some stuff into consideration seeing there pics. all though we gotta remember they are millionaires so they really don`t wanna change a lot on the top selling game.
