My Views on ELS 7 & New Mods

Before I begin, if this is in the wrong board, I apologize. This is for discussion purposes only. *Not Support*

My views on ELS 7 are quite positive. Overall, it took a lot of effort from the community to "bring back" Lt. Caine. I'm sure we all have used his mods before, (excluding previous ELS versions). Going along with the whole modding community, ELS is quite complicated. Now, compared to the previous versions it's difficult to grasp but it is a learning curve! I think that the more we see our community advancing, it is directed to grasp an audiance of members who will not only appreciate the time and effort it goes into modding, but also attempt to contain the inconsiderate "rip n' gips" or people who rip models from others. My opinion is that the moddig capablities are advancing, therefore the users must commit to these advancements. With that said, making vehicles, mods or even skins may become less avalable as we move on in the future. The more fantastic things the modding community can produce, the more likey it is for it to obviously get stolen or re-uploaded without credits or proper permission.

I just purchased a vehicle for myself & my friends to use. It's one the community has never seen before. With my money being spent on a model, I wouldnt want that to be stolen or ripped. I think that as long as members of the community can take time & appreciate the mod for what its worth, it will be eaiser to grasp and understand it.

Most of us are able to follow these rules and appreciate the mods and ther authors. But its thw few bad apples who cause the issues.

I might be wrong, but as the topic is titled, these aremy views

Everything needs more lights.

You can spend a great deal of effort on texturing as well though.  I mean you can spend hours getting every little detail right on a texture, from making decals look as though they've got a reflective property, to adding wear and tear, to aligning everything perfectly, to making your own logos, symbols, seals and whatever else.  Thing is, you can't exactly lock your .png file to stop people from ripping or stealing it can you?  People still make textures though, don't they?

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

Unfortunately that's the way it is. I'm having my skins stolen aswell and modified, when really the only thing I ask for is a mention in the credits. It's just something that you can't avoid. There's always gonna be people who enjoy taking credit for something that someone else has done. Either because of lazyness, or just pure evil. Still, I'm making skins because I enjoy it; and I don't think I'd ever stop just because of this.

perfectly said for us texture artists and why it takes those of us who are good so long like 3-4 hours per car

I just wish there was a way in the future that could prevent / stop / or make it harder for people to steal / modify skins

You modders and texture guys are good and do excellent work!  Love the work you guys put out there.  I guess you could look at the thefts as a medal of honor in some ways, they like your stuff so much that they steal it and put their own name on it.  Don't make it right, but may take the sting out of it.

Thanks again fella's!!
