Emergency lighting in GTA V

Featured Replies

In the first trailers for GTA V, the lights on the police, fire , and ambulance vehicles was kind of a disappointment. It looked as if it was going to be the same as in GTA IV with the rotating lights that really doesn't look so good (with this i mean the lights themselves in GTA, otherwise i'm a HUGE fan of rotating lights but that's besides the point). Now in the latest trailer with the three main characters they seem to have improved the lights on the cars tremendously.

Here is what the lights looked like in the first trailer.

Now that they've taken to improve this, here is what it looks like in the latest trailer.

So now that you have gotten the chance to see the lights in game, how do you feel? Do they look good, and what would you like to see in terms of emergency lightning. Now the game isn't going to release on PC until 4-6 months afterwords, and then we don't know whether or not it's going to be "modable" but it would be stupid not to allow that. I have bought the game on PC only for LCPD:FR and i have 210 hours in LCPD:FR alone.

Keep in mind that this is still pre- or early alpha build and things are subject to change.

Honestly if G17 media does not release LCPDFR RC3 BEFORE GTA 5 they will loose most of their comunity.

Yeah, i just hope that they can get LCPD:FR to a release build before GTA V. I will be moving to the US to got o school so i will have limited time for gaming and i will definitely spend my time on the Xbox or PS3 with GTA V if nothing new happens with LCPD:FR.

Besides, there's no decent policing sidemission in V (that we know of), so people will come back to IV to play LCPDFR until we (if its possible) port it to V.

That's not what i meant at all. I love LCPD:FR with all my heart. As I've said, i have over 200 hours played in it. The thing that i'm saying is that when GTA V comes out i will have to chose one of them because of limited time. Therefore i would like to see as many features added as possible before this happens.

LOL, no.

+GTA V is not announced yet on PC. Some of us are only PC gamers.

+Even if GTA IV is boring, if we enjoy LCPDFR we'll still play to it.

+We can be bored for some weeks or months but we won't disappear for eternity.

+RC2 is fine, it's not a big deal if we haven't RC3 fast. "Release it when it's ready" is the best way.

+Secondary scripts or tools still enhance and increase the gameplay.

in 2009 i watched my first lcpdfr video and before that i watched the police persute mod, in 2011 i got my first PC it was amazing, in 2012 i had my first ever game of lcpdfr. even if this mod docent come out for Gta 5 i will be playing it indefinetly until at-least the moders or website providers decide not to support it any more. this game renfourced the my urge to become a police officer.

but enough about that, i think the new LED lighting is fantastic this will add a shred more realism to a game that before there 4th version dident show any realism. games like need for speed and other games meant for driving have the realistic emergency lighting BUT FPS's and RPG's lack the little details that would make the game 50% more realistic. maybe as scene in the photo their will be different law enforcement agencies for different sectors in the MAP. all and all i am really exited about the new addition to the GTA Ceres and also equally exited about what the G17 media will be able to do with lcpdfr for the new game.

Well that is possible only if R* incorporate something as good as LCPDFR in GTA:V. Then it'll be good looks+brand new game+policing experience.

Just the thing that the State Troppers in GTA IV didn't have a different livery on their car bugged me. Not to mention how poor the lighting looked, but i guess they had limited technology or time and performance on the consoles but i am happy to see that they have improved all these things in GTA V.

I think that rockstar games is inspired by all the mods that there are on the Internet... the police lights in the game are so similar with those used by ELS...

I knew that ELS would inspire the new emergency lights

I'd say that the lighting system in GTA V is inspired by LEDs over all.

Actually, mate, ELS is inspired by real life LED lights. So R*'s lighting is basically inspired by real life, not by ELS.

im glad they changed it, i hope they can make a setting were you can just have the lights on. and then toggle the sirens on....

Becoming an actual cop seems VERY unlikely from what we've seen in the trailers. With luck you'll get some vigilante missions. And oh yeah, forget about  separate lights and sirens toggles. That just take up keys. R* will not do that.

I really do care much about about that, I'm just happy with LED lights on the cop cars

Well since one character is a retired bank robber, one a gang banger and one a lunatic i don't think any of those people would be accepted on to the LSPD or the BCSD. And vigilante missions is also unlikely, R* has stated that they want the player to "stay true to the character" and i don't think that vigilante missions would fit into that.
