my upload was "pending for deletion"

Featured Replies

long story short : i uploaded a livery under the vehicle skins category and it remained hidden for moderator approval but then it went from that , to "pending deletion" . im sure i put the link of the vehicle model in the description but for some reason it the livery was never uploaded.

I'm not sure how it ended up deleted, there are no issues with the file so I have restored it and it should be viewable now, double check it's all setup correctly.

its live now , i appreciate your help brother . I do have another question though , as you can see , ive uploaded my livery to the vehicle skins category . but what if i buy a vehicle model from one of the people (owners) who upload their stuff to the "vehicle models" category ? Am i allowed to upload to upload to the vehicle models category as well ? ... "vehicle models" get more exposure than "vehicles skins" do . If i can apply my livery creation to a purchased vehicle model , that will definetely send more followers my way towards my Discord channel. P.s : Ive done this before , but i retired for a bit ad closed my Discord, but now that GTA 6 is coming , i want to build a following again for future VCPDFR purposes. I only bring this up because i want to make sure i dont break a rule here on this website.

Hello,

If you purchase/use a vehicle model, you can only re-upload it with the explicit permission and/or licensing from the original author, and if you are uploading a livery, you cannot upload a model with it, it can only be uploaded as a livery. If however you are uploading a vehicle model you can include a livery with it, so long as it does not contain liveries or textures that somebody else made, unless of course you have permission.

We also do not allow advertising via files or on the forum, but if you want to advertise your Discord you can do that via your profile and forum signature. For more information please see our Community Guidelines.

Hello,

Thank You for the quick response , I am very aware that if I purchase/use and re-upload a vehicle model, i need explicit permission and/or licensing from the original author. I usually ask them that BEFORE i even purchase the vehicle because if they dont give permission that literally defeats the purpose lol Im also aware that if i upload a livery i cannot upload a model with it . Other than that , you gave me the answer i was looking for 👍. All my liveries are STRICTLY made by me and myself only so thats not something im anywhere near worried about. My goal is simple : buy vehicle , re-upload into the "vehicle model" category with MY livery attached to it.

one last thing , i understand i can share my Discord in my profile , but what did you mean when you said forum signature ? can you provide a quick example ?

The forum signature is the space underneath the post. For instance, mine is the message regarding reporting users who violate the Guidelines. You can set your signature by doing the following:

  1. Click your username at the top right of the page.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Click on the section titled Signature.

  4. Place in there whatever you wish so long as it meets our guidelines.

For clarification, you generally cannot upload a model you had no part in creating. If you only created the livery then you can only upload the livery. The only exception to this is if the model is not available anywhere and you have permission from the author to upload it. This could happen, for instance, if the author is no longer active in the community and their models were only uploaded to a now defunct site.

Generally, you would have a hard time getting permission to reupload purchased models unless they are development assets, in which case you would have also needed to edit the model. I've never seen someone who sells vehicle models allow someone to reupload their paid model for free.

But thats exactly what i mean though. Ive done this before in the past . Normally what i do is I speak to the author about purchasing a vehicle that has not yet been uploaded to LCPDFR nor anywhere else. So that once i buy it , i can upload into the "model" category with my livery attached to it. In simpler terms , i BUY the vehicle model that has never been uploaded, you can say i buy the permission as well if you wanna look at it that way. Sometimes i even pay for them to CREATE one for me from scratch and once i upload it I make sure to give the creator(s)/author their credits under the "credits" section. It may sound crazy but im basically willing to pay good money in exchange for a vehicle AND authors permission to upload. I do it all just so my own personal livery creation gets the exposure i want it to get . We all been in this community for years so I think we can all agree when I say that vehicle livery category gets WAYYY less exposure than vehicle models section. Which is why I never had an issue paying someone what they ask for when it comes to selling me their work.

So when you said you've never seen someone who sells vehicle models allow someone to reupload their paid model for free , its never free lol . I dont just pay for the model, its almost like im paying for the permission to re-upload as well. As long as i mention them in the credits the creators/authors dont mind. Except i dont expect you guys to know that part because payment process and negotiations all happen in DMs or behind the scenes ( Discord etc ) So i understand where youre coming from too.
