i have gta iv which i bought 3 days ago. i have the patch and the latest patch as well as LCPDFR RC2. i can play the game and even play LCPDFR. my problem is that the bulidings and roads dont load. ive tried like 2786713479654 different commandlines and i either get no cars and no peds or just no change. im not sure what to do i can use all my mods and functions and play the game but i just cant see the road or buildings unles im parked for like 15 minutes. Am i using the wrong combination of commands or is it something else? it doesnt let me change the graphics either all i can do is hit Auto sync or w/e its called. Anyway somebody plz help I have windows 7 FYI and everything else works fine i dont even lag i just dont see roads or buildings. Ive been trying to fix it for the last 2 days. i promise if you NAME SOMETHING FOR ME TO TRY I HAVE ALREADY TRIED IT. Please help

Your PC cannot handle GTA IV, you will need to get another laptop or a desktop, if you can, post your specs here.

What are your specs, in-game settings, what mods are you using?  This data is needed in order to have an inkling of what's going on with your game.

An Intel i7 is recommended, with at least 2.6 - 3.0 GHz Processor Speed

Along with at least 4 or 8 GB of RAM. (I think)

I have 8 GB of RAM, and it works fine for me, so far.

Though you didn't list it, if you have a 1GB Video Card, that's just under the minimum required to play GTA IV and LCPDFR on full scripts, and maximum settings.

It seems that you are going to need to purchase a new PC or upgrade your current one. 

its a new video card you need the one you have isn't strong enough


same thing happened to me disappearing buildings and roads as I drove

New video card (or update it). Update ALL your drivers!

Your specs are close to mine although my laptop has a 1gig vid card and 16gb RAM (which I just installed) and an i5 processor.  Going from 4gig to 16gig of ram didn't make much difference for my FPS (not with GTAIV at least which is GPU and CPU intensive, helped with Skyrim and BMS4.4 big time though).  I get about 30fps on medium setting, distance and detail settings at 25, vehicle setting at 20, which shadows off and water set to low.  I run about 13-scripts with my game.

 

I don't mod my police, police2, police3 or police4 with any car over 1.5mg poly count and only non-els cars go in those slots.  The real nice high-poly cars with ELS only go in my nStockade and Noose slots only.  I also use Traffic Load or Traffic Fix by Chikmaru to combat the taxi bug.  My textures don't pop or go away any longer due to the tweaks mentioned.
