  • Current system is fine. Only thing I would chnage is the ability to arrest someone without pointing your gun at them.

  • Controller support is coming, hang in there.

I have an idea of a better, more realistic and fun way to arrest someone.

Step 1: Aim + Press E at the suspect from up to maybe 10-15 ft away.

Step 2: If they comply, they get down on their knees and put their hands behind their backs (would be cool if it was possible to have a voice recording for that part too, but probably not possible)

Step 3: Walk up to them and slap handcuffs on behind them.

Step 4: Aim at your cruiser and use a hotkey to order them to walk to that car with their hands still handcuffed and get in the backseat instead of them following you.

I would find that to be a lot more fun than the current system.

Really good idea but they aint going to do a felony arrest for someone doing something small. Becasue the way your putting it is that the are commanded to do stuff if they had done a felony...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRVTqWSXiBc

Plus it would be huge amount of script.

"Felony arrest" has surprisingly little to do with felonies. The more term is "high-risk arrest", because it's based entirely on the risk of the arrest (instead of the seriousness of the crime). For example, embezzlement is a felony, but they probably won't put you at gunpoint for it. On the other hand, if someone is assaulting someone else, the responding officer may well bark commands at them, even though assault isn't a felony.

Remember, at time of arrest, you have generally not been convicted of any crime, and often haven't even been formally charged. I don't think the arresting officer even needs to have a specific crime in mind - cops aren't expected to memorize the precise details of the law, that's a lawyer's job. Hence why cops don't file charges.

But the officers do need to be aware of why they are aresting you, and Officers should try to book the suspect on the highest charge possible. (its easy for a DA to look and determine if enough evidence exists for the charge, or if they will go for a lesser charge. Its easy to go down, not go up.)

They need to know why they're arresting you, but I don't believe they need to know the precise charges when they make the arrest (so they may not know if it's a felony or not). Also, again, embezzlement won't normally lead to gunpoint arrest, while a misdemeanor assault would be more likely to.

As both make great points...I don't believe in "stacking charges" however, if I'm placing someone in custody..I always take into account the "attitude of the suspect", as well as "environmental circumstances" behind the arrest. No matter the charge i believe ""situational awareness" is key for the type of response I offer.

The only thing i'd like to see changed/fixed is the xbox360 controller compatibility, [LB] doesn't work for me at all whether its in the Police Station, Open a trunk or arrest, the amount of times the so and so runs off while i'm looking at the keyboard to press E by the time i look back at the screen the guy is half way up the road probably laughing his you know whats off :woot:

I don't think LCPDFR is that "buggy" at all. Just the arrests/frisking. Everything else works pretty well. A lot of bugs are caused by other mods interfering with eachother.

frisking for sure. i usually have to cuff them before im allowed to frisk them... which is weird as their arms are like out of joints...
