  • I'm pretty sure that if you edit the corona texture to blue, you will get blue and purple lights as it will still add red to the ones that are meant to be red.   As far as I know, you can't do much

  • You should make a video tut on how to do this..

To my knowledge, which is limited on this kind of stuff, I think in order to do that you would have to edit the model in ZModeler or something similar and use different colored nodes and save it. Don't take my word for it, but from messing around with ZMod for a little, I think that's what you do. Probably not though, but I'm not sure. LOL. Just trying to help.

I think you are right, I have the car open in Zmodeler. Now I need to figure out how to change the colors.

I have found the siren objects in Zmodeler #1-7 which I assume are the lights. I can't figure out how to change the colors though.

The light coronas themselves can only be blue/white and red.

I want to switch the red to blue.

You can only have 8 light coronas on a vehicle in the police slot. Siren1/3/5/7 are red, siren 2/4/6/8 are white/blue.

So it is not possible to change the red to blue? If not, how would I change the white to blue?

Well you can't have an all blue lightbar if that's what you're after, unless you want it to only have four lights.

No I want it to be either White/Blue or Red/Blue, How do I do that?

I tried using the paint option in Zmodeler, nothing really happens.

UPDATE: I have found the light files and the glass files for the lights, but I can't seem to figure out how to change the color. Clicking on properties and changing the color there did not seem to do anything.

Please Help!

Thanks

So you mean you just want to change the colour of the actual glass mesh?

eg.

colouredvapid.png

Yes, and the color it flashes in game. I know how to do this with ELS, but there is no template with the lights.

Well the only way to alter the colour they flash in game is by renaming each siren dummy as I said before. They'll either be red (odd numbers) or white/blue (I think your ENB/coronas.wtd or visual settings effect how blue or white they appear ingame) for even numbers.

For the actual glass of the default lightbar, it's not controlled by a texture file. It's painted in with zmodeler. You need to select the polygons you wish to change the colour of (with selected mode on, so it's orange), switch to Vertex mode, then select the paint tool (Surface -> Paint), change the pressure to 100, then open the Colour menu and choose your colour, then hit 'Fill selection'.

Thanks! I will try that. By the way, where is the coronas.wtd file?

I'm really not 100% on what it is that makes the light coronas bluer/whiter, but if it's related to the corona texture you may like to try this mod  and see if one looks right for you. It could just be an illusion based on what materials are around it (so if you changed the white glass to blue glass, the corona flashing inside it may appear to be bluer)

I tried changing the stuff around like you all said, nothing really happens other than that one time when I pressed G the game crashed.

I wish there was a detailed guide for this, it seems like ELS is all that anyone uses.

It sounds like you might have made a mistake with the sirens, did you rename them or anything?

Nope. Can you please explain more what exactly I have to change and how. I am not that good with Zmodeler. I opened a fresh copy of the police car to ensure whatever I did is gone.

Thanks
