ELS cars spawn with random lights on

Featured Replies

Hi there

I notice a problem where ELS cars always spawn with a couple lights already on. Is there a specific way to fix this?

Someone mentioned on gtaforums that when you put ext_script or something in the vehicles.ide it will fix it?

Thanks in advance

Actually...yes that makes sense. Since on ELS cars the only extras assigned to "Extras" slots are the lights, that command would work. What it does is tell the game to only load extras on that car when a script tells it to, and ELS would be that script.

"Work and ideas get stolen, then you keep moving on doing your thing."

It can't be fixed other than by turning off ELS on AI vehicles.

How's that fix it? It's an issue with the extras system, not the script (even if ELS is disabled for a particular model, it still spawns with random lights).

About +ext_script: I vaguely recall enabling that and it not quite working.

You can enable it on and off

That's not what +ext_script is. +ext_script is an option in vehicles.ide that says, basically, "the extras on this car are for the use of a script". There are other flags about extras; for example, +ext_requi says "require extras on this car". It isn't an ELS feature, it's a GTA feature.

You can set it so AI cars have ELS or you can set it so they don't

No, you can set it so the AI use ELS or not. Whether or not they can use it doesn't affect what extras load.

Edit: I also just added that extension and took off "ext_requi," but when I spawn cars with the trainer, they still have random lights on. Not sure about cars spawned in traffic.
