R* is lazy, the normal cars aren't even mapped properly.

I'd love to see something for the cruiser like in the beta, unit number on top of the trunk or so. If someone would remake it, different liveries could be added to the car, like unit number changed and so on.

Olanov, this is what you're looking for here

It has CVPI, Impala, Charger, Tahoe, and Transport (swat, buses, etc.) all enhanced with unit numbers, divisions, precinct info etc.
