Featured Replies

Hey,

I recently uninstalled my gta 4 and reinstalled it. The procces went fine. So i tried to launch gta and well it does not launch. It just brings up a cmd and that is it. Can someone please help me on how to fix this bug and get my gta to work!

Run LaunchGTA.exe as admin

<p>iam JuStFiRe- i lost my pass lol Whop whop... Im JuStFiRe-, but forget my pass

If all else fails do a system restore or, if you are like me and just have no patience, re-install windows all together. IF that doesn't work then somethings wrong with you graphics cards, sounds like. my best advice :P

Can I suggest that you don't try to offer assistance if you're just going to stab in the dark at solution? Re-installing windows should be a last resort.

OP, update your GTA IV version to 1.0.7.0 (the latest patch) since only the older versions open a cmd window. Also update GFWL at the same time. Links below:

I just offered my personal advice which works for me. I will not be held responsible for any ones escalated problems if they take my advice in which they do not know what they are doing. You are right, re-installing windows is a last resort for all problems, regardless of the issue, but I have no problems in doing so which is why I offered it as my advice. May I suggest you don't tell me what assistance I can and can't give, that's asinine of you, come on! Give me a break It's just a suggestion not a frk'n physical assault lol

I wasn't saying you couldn't give advice hence the keyword "suggest" in my post. Still, if you wish to continue with this discussion feel free to send me a PM, and we'll continue there instead of jacking this members thread.

.. I was gonna suggest the same thing lol. Happened to me when I first started playing..lol

I also SUGGEST, If you don't know the solution, give it some time and let a knowledgeable person like Tom, answer the question.

There is a lot more trouble-shooting that could be done before re-installing windows and in this situation he would of re-installed windows, and still had the same problem.

well only time will tell, that's all I'm going to say. a fresh install of windows with the latest updates is like buying a new car, smells great, works great, handles great. it's a suggestion I will stick by no matter what egotistic fuck tells me what to do.

Woah there... Let me stop you there by reporting your post. No need to call anyone names at any time. Absolutely uncalled for.

Both people who respectfully advised the OP to not take your advice were in no way being egotistical. They were simply saving the person from doing a hell of a lot more work than needed.

A simple update to GTA should fix this OP's problems. At no point in anytime should reinstalling windows be necessary as majority of the time, reinstalling GTA and updating drivers will fix a problem.

Again, I would recommend you think before posting again as I feel you are going to instigate flaming.

Ok i'm done giving advice as it seems it just causes conflicts. It's advice! take it or leave it, i have a right to my opinion and when people tell me I shouldn't give advice that itself is rude. Report my post, go ahead, all I was trying to do was help and I got smashed on. I'm done with giving advice. Just a note the OP has not marked this solved nor has the OP responded. Sorry and bye- wtf

You need to bring it down, the only person here who needs to stop, think and calm down is you, you are giving advice which at the best of times are not recommended at all, reinstalling windows because a game won't launch makes no sense whatsoever, it may work for you but it could very well lead to someone losing valuable data. Do not give support if you can't give good support.

I suggest that you spend time getting to know th4 in and outs of gta4 while using LCPDFR and other mods ( seems like you don't know anything) there is other posts and  a bunch of easier much simpler soultions than people constanly having to reboot their ssystem and reinstalling their game

ex.

it could be 2 mods aren't compatible, same wth the cars 1 coul d have a bug, could be hey need a patch etc etc

rebooting your system or reinstalling a game should only be used as a last resort and never recommended ( or suggested)

Did you save your game while the LCPDFR script was running? If so go into your game directory and delete your saved game, that is what happened to me early on. Also, a question I guess I need to ask, did GTA4 work before or did you do something, install something, and then it quit working?
