Anyone feel like LSPDFR base game is really incomplete?

Featured Replies

I've heard that LCPDFR had way more features than LSPDFR like fire and ambulance gameplay. I feel like the base game is extremely lackluster in the features that it offers. Especially with the callouts and law enforcement aspect. The base game only has 2 callouts which kinda baffled me. I needed to install at least 4 mods to get LSDPFR to feel like a good game. Stop the ped should basically be included in LSPDFR base game. I am not complaining about the game too much but I am just wondering if other people thought this as well. LSPDFR really needs more features to feel like a complete experience without needing to install dozens of mods. I was also very surprised that the base game doesn't have any booking system or citation system, this seems like common sense to be honest.

I'm certain this has discussed before, so I won't go into too much detail but - LSPDFR is only as good as the community modders behind it!

I don't imagine that LSPDFR was ever there to be the complete solution. It provides the tools for other people to dedicate time & energy to create mods for it -- which is not something that even the LSPDFR team have all the time.

We're fortunate enough that there's an active development community and while I have no doubt in the development team behind LSPDFR, why not offload it to those willing? Sometimes it is only those apart of the community who can create ambitious plugins like GrammarPolice, computer systems you mention etc.

You make out that 'needing' to install mods is a bad thing, but I truly believe it is the exact opposite! All of a sudden anyone can develop for LSPDFR, and users enjoy the freedom and choice when it comes to installing what they'd like in their game.

Just my two cents! Hope you appreciate the perspective. 🫶

I can understand that some people feel that base LSPDFR is incomplete, and to an extent I can agree with you.

But, like Charlie said, I think it is better off allowing the community to create great things to throw on top of the base framework. It gives the community more freedom in that sense.

I get both sides of the story. When I first jumped into LSPDFR (automatic install), it felt like a walk in the park, just stuck with the basic version. But the more I got into it, it's like a soup recipe, you know? They throw in the basics, and you spice it up however you want. Gotta admit, I'm an ELS-vegetarian lol, but now that I've caught onto its vibe, I'm totally loving it this way!

I haven't tried LCPDFR, so I can't make a comparison. However, I must admit that the ambulance and firefighter gameplay seems enjoyable to have in the basic version of LSPDFR. I have to agree.

I never thought I'd see an analogy for LSPDFR involving soup!

You really hit the nail on the head...or should I say hit the crouton in the soup? 🤪

Have never seen it. I however find LSPDFR EMS-crew logic and behaviour not only bad, but directly damaging to immersive gameplay. LSPDFR Native EMS is a joke.
Sadly not funny at all.

i always felt as if lspdfr base was like scripthookv, its not a mod that you interact with but its more of a mod that allows other mods to do its work , yea you can play lspdfr with out other plugins, but i think it was always up to the community to add what they wanted to it, which i love , if they didnt allow that, we wouldnt have all the wonderful plugins and scripts we do now for it

I certainly agree.

The way I see it is that people will have gripes with either direction. If it was all down to G17 Media (LSPDFR's Creators) to make every feature that is already out there, people would be unhappy that it wasn't happening fast enough.

Then let's say they leave it like it is now, where it is solely up to the community to build upon the base plugin. People would be saying they weren't doing enough.

To sum it up, there isn't a scenario where everyone is a hundred percent happy with the outcome. But at least we can rely on the community to create new things every day and build upon what we already have.

Absolutely!
a large collection of implemented ideas is exactly the power of an active community. This would increase even more if more of the source was open -Not all as in open source, because 'baddies' would implement malware : /
