Fraps Recording Issue

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone!!

I have been uploading videos quite often lately and have noticed my videos are not full screen. Meaning, there are black running vertical along each side.

I asked around and a lot of people said it was the way I was rendering with my bitrate.

However, I checked out the videos in Windows Media Player and found the bars are on there aswell. So I believe it is with the way I am recording.

With that in mind, I checked with a friend and had him set my FRAPS recording settings exactly how he has them(his videos are full screen) and I still have the bars!!!!!!!!!!

Im at my wits end lol.

Could it be my in game video mode? Cuz I turned it down a bit to get some more frames.

Check my videos(link in signature) if you dont understand my dilemma!

Thanks everyone for you support!

Hmm, have you checked if you have the Fullscreen mode enabled in FRAPS? Also Im not sure if it effects the recording if you have some small resolution ingame when you are recording like for example 800x600 lol.

However, I think that theres a way you can stretch the video in Movie Maker so its fullscreen :) But that can effect the videos quality...

In addition to what Nicolai stated, there's an alternative solution but not everyone may have resources to use it. If you have the program Sony Vegas (Any Version), you can eliminate those black borders by right clicking the clip, going to Switches, and disabling

"Maintain Aspect Ratio". This will stretch the video, eliminating the black borders. However, it may reduce video quality depending on the resolution you recorded the footage at. You can then render the finished video product as 720p (If you recorded at 1680x1050)

or 1080p (If you recorded at 1920x1080).

Its in fullscreen mode.

I am going to try and adjust the resolution slightly to see if that helps!!

I have used Sony Vegas, Windows Movie Maker and Cyberlink power firector
