Project Oasis

Description

Project Oasis is an idea I came up with over the weekend which involves producing and releasing vehicle and respective texture modifications on all 50 State Police Agencies in the United States. These modifications will be aimed at realism and accuracy. The whole idea is to reproduce the mainstays and backbones of a particular state agencies vehicle fleet. It should be clear from the start that I am not making a pack of vehicles for each state agency, simply just a particular vehicle used routinely by that department and its corresponding texture design. Do not ask me about making a specific state agency Caprice, Explorer, or Taurus because those will be done in turn and done separately; that’s a whole other agenda, which is not the focus of this project.

However some of these agencies might have very recently switched to a newer vehicle they use as their main patrol vehicle, and so I will do up to two different vehicles for that one department. So as an example let us say New York previously used and still uses the Crown Victoria, but have recently switched to the 2012 Dodge Charger (and also maintains a healthy fleet of 2010 Chargers), then those three vehicles shall be made. For the most part don’t expect anything more than 2 vehicles for a majority of this project (1 is the standard/expectation).

With 50 States (sure Hawaii may not have a state agency but an agency from that state will be chosen) and at the minimum 50 vehicle modifications and textures, don’t expect this to be done by next week. However, I have made several different state police department vehicle mods already released which will be updated. Nevertheless I am aiming for a Christmas release date or a New Year’s Day Release Date. I will be solely responsible for this project and take all criticisms in regards to the project; however you must understand as a single person who has absolutely no knowledge or savvy on how every state agencies set up their vehicles, I can only accomplish so much in such a capacity. I do ask the community to provide input in the form of advice and constructive criticisms and reference videos and photos to help me with my work. Those of you who reside in a particular state with firsthand knowledge of how a particular lighting pattern or what equipment us setup and used, can PM me privately (Please be intelligent, legible, and most importantly attempt to maintain a semblance of grammar and spelling.).

Specifications

The model being used for the Crown Victoria Police Interceptor will be the model by the collective work of Schaefft, Chasez, Lt. Caine, and BxBugs; which in turn has been extensively modified and optimized to work in game for everyone and look the most accurate. (CVPI wft plain with no modifications except spotlights starts at 2.00mb)

*A possible secondary pack might be made in the future with the Driver: San Francisco Crown Victoria but that remains to be decided.

The model being used for the 2010 Charger will be that of Lt. Caine. The model being used for the 2012 Charger will be originally a Dodge Charger SRT-8 from Forza 4 converted and modified into a standard Dodge Charger R/T or LS with parts from Forza/Turn10 Studios which have been converted by Grimm to GTA: SA and in turn converted by me to IV and also with hood and front bumper by Stew2000 converted by EVI. The 2012 Charger wft stands at roughly 2.45mb plain.

Notes

Another project that could be in the foreseeable future would be one that includes the Provincial Departments of all the Canadian Provinces and ultimately include a variety of RCMP vehicles.

· Also try not to spam this topic with unnecessary comments or questions. Read the entire description before asking a question.

· My rate at which I plan to make each vehicle will be relatively conservative with at least one state/vehicle a day. Other days I might be preoccupied with social aspects of my life and others I’ll have more free time than others and might bust off several models in one day.

· I’ll do my best to update my progress regularly with screenshots and/or short video clips.

Excited to see what you'll come up with. Would it help if we gave you pictures of regular patrol vehicles?

Damn... My idea exactly when i was thinking about vehicles to model. Funny thing is, what may take you maybe half an hour to make will probably take me half a day since I am brand new to modeling.

Super excited to see this release. Best of luck.

Keep up the great work :D

Please do.

Feel free to post pictures here, just don't over do it to a point where we have 30 pages for this topic.

And also stick the state you reside in.

What about people that live on a border? While I live in KS, I routinely travel through MO and know their light setup fairly well. I can pm you pics and details tomorrow.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

Same. I live in Maryland, but I'm right on the border with DC.

Feel free to drop your knowledge. I'll need all I can get.

As far as Ohio State Highway Patrol goes, this video may just be your best friend.

I can't wait to see this! Gonna have to reinstall ELS. I have a texture almost done on a CVPI for Vermont State Police. Will work on a Charger skin after that. I have no problem sending them your way for the project to save you some time.

If you need any first hand details about New York vehicles, I'd be glad to offer my input.

This sounds great!

JSDGraphics tried something like this awhile but with Canada and the U.S don't know if he even finished it, goodluck Aznairsoft!
