LCPD (NYPD) pushbars are, indeed, specific to that department. Same goes for most of the pushbars in use by the CHP and various other departments as well. OPP and LASD spring to mind...

I believe they are made by inmates, if I'm not mistaken. At least that's the case for CHP.

So that would be the basis for his reasoning. In reality though, that's something that probably won't be 'fixed' as it probably isn't even seen by R* as a problem. I'm certain the last thing on their minds is "Shit, the cop cars have NYPD rambars, specific to the NYPD only. Everyone will notice this, back to the drawing board...".

Also, in the past I believe R* released screens of their games and then they decided to cut some of that stuff out. So maybe not all of this will be in the final release.

you have no place to say that, because there is only one LCPD (not counting other GTA's) we don't see multiple agencies in GTAIV to base that those push bumpers are LCPD specific, in which GTA V backs me up on, that these push bumpers are in fact not department specific. shall you look at the picture again?

No no no no, I believe you misunderstood me. I was referring to their real life counterpart. The NYPD, which the LCPD is based off of, uses specific pushbars to their dept. This was taken into account at some level by Rockstar's design team when they modelled the police cars for IV. Since it's more efficient to just re-use the same pushbar from the old police car models, rather than designing and building a new one, obviously that pushbar isn't department specific in the GTA universe. I was just trying to make the point that although those pushbars are NYPD like in design, they are highly unlikely to be changed into something more California appropriate, as it's a really minor detail.
