Liquid cooled- In all honesty, liquid cooled isn't always better.

Yea sure, Also new video card specs here in a second. I am buying all the parts from a guy, These are the specs he gave me also I will update the video card. Windows 8 in my opinion is crap and to buggy.

Have you actually used the OS? Because it's based on Windows 7, and it's faster. It even bumps up game performance by an average of 2% even without a graphics card being thrown into the mix as a factor. Microsoft is also selling it for $69.99 at local stores for now due to the "celebration".

The hate on Windows 8 is ridiculous and quite frankly unfounded.

I think humans by nature struggle to accept major change in anything. God forbid a piece of electronic equipment they use every day. The actual operating system has changed very, very little. The normal desktop still exists. The main difference is that instead of a start button, you now have a start screen which has full icons or panels that update in real time and are friendlier to touch interfaces. They did this for two reasons. The first was to get people ready for tablets and other gesture devices. The second however, makes sense for the consumer's day to day usage as well. The second reason was that most Microsoft reps who observed people use Windows 7 found that most users they tested ended up pinning the apps they used to the quick launch bar or put an icon on the desktop, hence not using or therefore needing a clunky start menu with folders and sub-folders. The idea for a start menu was drafted in the 1990's. Apple has had a dock, more or less a smaller version of the start screen or a big version of the quick launch bar since the early to mid 2000's. It's the year 2012. It's time to move on.

The people who miss their old desktop can just press the big button in the lower right corner that says 'Desktop' and stay in that mode 24/7 if they want.

You may not like Windows 8, but claiming that *no one* who wants a desktop could *possibly* like it is kinda ridiculous. People have different preferences when it comes to technology.

My opinion somewhat, I have a iMac because I am a photographer, and in my free time I make some videos! Macs are good for that kind of stuff, and they are WAY overpriced for what you get but there support quality is great!

www.Newegg.com , always got my components form there with absolutely no issues, you could also look around for possible better pricing/directly from the manufacture, but newegg is great and I recommend them.

That's just it. The change was needed because the computing industry is about more than desktops and laptops now. Smartphones and tablets are a part of our every day lives, and like it or not; they aren't going away. Microsoft realizes this and Windows 8 is an attempt to do what Apple has already slowly been working on for about a decade now. It's an attempt to unify their entire product lineup under one interface. This means that if you pick up a Windows 8 based phone, tablet or even try someones XBOX, you'll know how to use it because you already (in this scenario I'm describing) already own a Windows 8 based PC. It's a great idea actually. The problem with it is that Microsoft and Apple have opposite approaches to this.

Apple has been slowly nudging people in the direction of a unified operating system for years, and the changes to OSX have only been the "boldest" when Mountain Lion was recently released due to features like Facebook integration, Siri dictation, a notifications tab and mirroring with Apple TV. Microsoft meanwhile has done nothing to make it easy to connect with other devices under their branding unless you count Games for Windows Live which is absolutely horrible. So rather than stay in a position where they are a decade behind Apple in simplifying all of their products for a consistent user experience, they developed Windows 8, and it's a system shock because they're shoving you into the pool, so to speak. Some people may give up on Windows computers for this reason, and I think Microsoft knew that during development. It's a calculated risk, and it's either going to pay off, or it won't. They won't be broke if it doesn't pay off, it will just be "back to the drawing board".

So in regards to your lack of desire for a touch screen desktop; cool. You don't need one. Just click the panel in the bottom left corner of the start screen that says 'Desktop' and you can forget that the start panel even exists.

Do you own any kind of smart phone or mp3 player? Did you ever own a CD or DVD player before that? The way we interact with multimedia changes frequently. So something you may percieve as a fad may in fact be a generation of technology that blows past you in less than 10 years.

The work will mostly be done by your internet connection, and this is provided you use the panels that update in real time. If you don't want panels that display streaming updates to stocks, weather and social network sites, then don't use them. They also aren't active unless you have the start screen up, which you won't during a game. It reverts to desktop mode automatically.

No, you don't have to. You can just pin them on the start screen or the desktop, whichever you'd prefer. Since you boot to it first, the start screen makes the most sense, but I might do both in case I don't want to alternate between the two. And I'm going to have to disagree with you on the whole searching vs. using the start menu thing. I can hit the Windows logo key and type in part of a word and hit 'Enter' faster than you can pick any program out of any folder on the 'All Programs' menu. I guarantee it. And that was in Windows 7 and Vista. In Windows 8 you don't even need to hit the Windows logo key. You can just start typing something. It can't get much lazier than that, unless they decide to integrate voice activation (I'm just waiting for the Windows 9 commercials to come along and tout that as a revolutionary new feature).

All Linux systems are screwed from the day they're developed because they begin with less than a 1% market share and have to fight dozens of other Linux variants that may or may not be better. And when something better comes along (Fedora, Mint, you pick) and bumps it out of the way, it's all over unless they manage to revolutionize they UI. And so far they all pretty much mimic Windows or Mac OSX. And please don't give me any arguments about UI copying because I don't want to go all the way back to the 80's when Xerox was the first company to develop a modern UI. Every software company on the planet copies off of another and modifies it to better its features. It sucks, but in the end it benefits the user. The U.S. patent system gets in the way more than it helps these days.

No, you don't have to pay Microsoft anything. Windows 7 support supposedly goes on until 2020 according to a leaked Microsoft road map, so you can stick with the OS until then if you really want. People just need to remember that Windows 8 wasn't designed with the desktop and laptop users in mind only. In this day and age they can't afford to design their software like that anymore. Apple and even Google both have huge head starts on them in the mobile sector. And if you haven't read much tech news, Apple is the richest company on the planet right now. Even more than the oil companies. And the majority of that money hasn't come from iMacs, MacBooks or even the Mac Pro desktop. It's come from their more affordable and easily accessable iPhones, iPods and iPads. Simple as they may be. That's the majority of our planet. Most people are interested in being connected with each other in many areas, and want something intuitive, easy to use and understand.

The way most of us PC snobs see it, most people are dumb. And although that may be true to an extent, the needs of the many outweigh the preferences of the few. So here we are today with Windows 8. A new type of interface for a new type of computing taken into account. As angry as you may be over these changes, think about how people who used command prompts all the time felt when a graphical user interface came out. Some were excited, others were angry. Or travel back in time (if you're old enough to remember) when computers were handled using punch cards. Evolution of technology happens all the time. And we either have to "deal" with the changes or find another hobby. lol
