Seriosuly? Because shit-tons of people have this problem, missing textures and stuff, even low FPS.

Tonnes of people have this issue becuase:

* R* did a pathetic job porting the game from console.

* Vehicle modders don't appear to comprehend a polygon count.

* Too many people think consoles rule (cause of first point)

* R* never intended the game's engine to load vehicles 800+% larger than their models.

...

Original police car (CVPI like): ~13,094 polys

A CVPI from a popular site: ~125,911 polys

That is an 862% increase, the game engine cant handle that, especially when you have many cars being spawned. These people need to learn to stick to a polygon budget.

You are using the WRONG right theme!

GTA4 has its problems, it was poorly made for PC as Sniper said. How much RAM does your PC have?

I recently got a minor upgrade from my GTS450 and went to an XFX HD6850, now I'm facing lag issues with shadows and view distance... I believe GTA4 was more optimized for Nvidia cards than it was optimized for ATi cards.

I play GTA IV on a Intel HD graphics card with 3 GB of ram and I got it working pretty well. I get about 15-20 Fps without Fraps and 10-15 with Fraps. That's pretty good for my laptop. Try using Graphic enhancement for low end computers it works great.

Try using Graphic enhancement for low end computers it works great.

Would that decrease lag, increase missing textures etc? I am also having problems pretty similar to this guy!

(PC specs: Intel Core i3 CPU M 370 @ 2.40GHz 6.00 GB (5.80 usable))

LAg isn't to bad with few modded cars, skins and scripts but still pretty shocking!

Do you have any links for any graphic enhancements, that would be really helpful!

(I am using a "commandline.txt" by the way!)

Thanks fbo194

Hello, I need help fixing my GTA 4 low fps, Its impossible to do chases and stuff in this lag, well,it isn't extreme lag,but the textures are bad and I cant play this game normally.

Try:

1) open a text document (.txt) (notepad)

2) type this:

-norestriction

-nomemrestrict

-novblank

-percentvidmem "100"

3) copy EXACTLY that^

4) save it as "commandline.txt"

5) Put it in your GTA IV game directory

6) lower all graphics to minimum

If those ones don't work then try:

-renderquality 0

-shadowdensity 0

-texturequality 0

-viewdistance 0

-detailquality 0

-novblank 0

-norestrictions

-width 512

-heigth 384

-safemode

-availablevidem 3

-percentvidem 100

-minspecaudio

-novsync

-renderquality 0

-framelimit 0

-nomerestrict

-fullscreen

Hope this helps, its not perfect but took me from NO textures atall to most.

HINT: Works best at night (less lag).

Regards fbo194
