One Character - Two Names?

Featured Replies

Hi!

I just noticed that the Name of my LSPDFR-Character changed without any actions by me. I created that char months ago as "Errol Armstrong". The File in the Characterfolder and the Name at LSPDFR-Sync are still "Errol Armstrong", ingame i'm suddenly a "Jay Doherty".

I dont know when this happened, I just saw it now.

Has anyone an Idea how to switch back to my correct name?

It looks like something similar to this thread:

Ah, it sucks to see someone else is having this issue...Unfortunately you probably saw that the only way I was able to fix it in my situation was by getting the LSPDFR team to manually change it on their end. Do you happen to be using CompuLite, StopThePed, any plugins like that? I found out later that my character's name changed to a ped I had arrested much earlier, maybe we can at least narrow it down and find out if it's an issue with a plugin or LSPDFR itself.

All of them, who don't? 😄

This. Sucks. I'm not a "Jay Doherty" Type of Person .

Hey, at least it's better than changing to 'Yasmine"...on a male character!

But if you use all those plugins then it still leaves the question of what causes it up in the air....it's so weird.

I still dont have a solution.

Does anyone know how to edit the characterfile by myself? Or a way to rename all NPCs "Errol Armstrong" until the Plugin changes my name back? I know, this sounds very weird, but I'm not a programer or something like that and I just want a solution for my problem 😕

Yes! But this Problem is also on my on LSPDFR-Sync saved Char - It keeps showing the right name on the website, but the wrong name ingame. It looks like the characterfile itself is corrupted.

I'm here for help with my own problem, I'm not capable to help you with your problems. 😕

so after you make a new character (after reinstalling lspdfr) it does the same thing with the name mix up?

No, but thats not the problem, neither the solution. Its nearly impossible to recreate the char.

Some of us put much affort in the chars, I just look for a fix to change back the name.

This issue is caused by an LSPDFR plugin you've installed that has changed your characters' Persona.

Ultimately the damage is done, your characters' Persona will have been altered on your side and then sent to LSPDFR Sync. LSPDFR Sync is showing the old name because we store the character name separately and it is not normally changeable.

In a future LSPDFR release, we will prevent plugins from being able to modify this, as this is not what we expect plugins to do with the API.

We can, on our side, modify the character data however we cannot continue to do this on a case by case basis. I will see if I can add a process into LSPDFR Sync on the website to automatically fix this.

@GrunteliciousHello, I've added a self-service repair process for this. If you go to your character's LSPDFR Sync profile on the website, you should now see a message saying your character name may be corrupt. Click the 'Fix this' button and you should be walked through our new automatic repair process for this.
