Fair point. It was more of just an open letter to all because I have seen that behavior a lot recently and I am kinda fed up with it.

Thank you. I'm so tired of seeing every plugin ever using that ancient shoulder mic animation.

 

Also can you guys please make it so lspdfr characters tattoos are saved, as well as the pearlescent paint for saved vehicles, I know they're minor things but having a randomly coloured sheen to any saved vehicle is kind of annoying.

if you still have the installer on your pc do it from there otherwise wait for StopThePed to be updated, you can't do otherwise

0.4.8 looks cool tho

have down loaded 0.7.8 which is working fine, however with the animation drawing the pistol when not using intimidate goes back to the old ways of pulling the pistol across your body. Has 0.4.8 cancelled out the old animation when drawing the pistol and placing it back in the holster which was in 0.4.7.

We actually thought about this and did mean to keep this up for download but I've just checked and there's a bug stopping the 0.4.7 file from being downloaded.

This has been fixed and you should see the option for 0.4.7 when downloading now.

Of course, you're free to stick to what you have.  Most things should probably be okay though.

You're right, this is an oversight on our part.  Those animations were disabled temporarily to make way for the new Intimidate action and weren't updated and re-enabled to work with it.

I'm not so sure that anyone does, you would have to find a way of contacting him.

 

For what it's worth, we do our best to ensure that our mod remains as compatible as can be with others, even after updates.  I have to say that there's very little technical reason for his, or anyone else's mods, to disable themselves when used with a newer LSPDFR version.  

 

 

To give an example, the above code is part of our API and is an obsolete way of getting a person's birthday, spelled BirthDay.  It was changed to Birthday ages ago (without the capital D) but we keep the old way (with the capital D) just so that things don't break.

 

In a nut shell, it really shouldn't be necessary to force version checks or things like this on players and it's frustrating for us and I think for most people that certain modders do, especially given the fact that we keep the newer versions of LSPDFR compatible as best we can and haven't introduced any breaking changes since the first release of 0.4.

Any mod that has a LSPDFR version checker and disables itself when there's a version mismatch will be incompatible until the plugin author updates their mod.  If you don't like it, tell the plugin author.  Only the plugin author knows when they'll update their mods, so you might want to find their Discord server (if they have one) and ask your questions there.

I do know that Bejo said he doesnt plan to remove the version checker anytime soon. Im sure you probably already know this, but its more directed towards anyone who will be asking in the future. 🙂

I would love to see this, and it's something I brought up with Bejo's Community Manager. I know that a majority of the population would love to see it, it most likely won't happen, because it is ultimately up to Bejo. Hopefully there will be a way to solve the version checker issue. In my opinion, I really don't mind it because I play other games while I wait, but I know some die-hard LSPDFR fans just can't wait for the updates, and it can cause them a major inconvenience.

I don't ever see that happening, unfortunately.  The main reason Bejoljo left this site is because management got pissy about the choices Bejoljo made with his mods (online only/version checker, remove support for previous versions) and stopped allowing his mods to be uploaded here until he removed it.
