Pursuit Ready Mod
Crown Victoria Handling Mod

Pursuit Ready Mod is a handling mod to add realism and effectiveness to the Crown Victoria "Vapid" police model.

Functionality

Tired of the sluggish and unrealistic acceleration of the Crown Victoria "Vapid" cruiser in-game? This mod appends the stock handling of the Crown Victoria to add a higher degree of realism and effectiveness in pursuits. Modifications to the handling data reflects real world data.

Affected Values

  • Increased torque, acceleration (CVPI will reach a higher top speed)
  • Reduced gear count to 4 (to reflect real world data)
  • Reduced braking power
  • Added a bit of stability control force to simulate stiff suspension
  • Added weight -- proportionately heavier than the Charger (should make PIT more realistic)

Police "Taurus" Interceptor

I also appended the "Taurus" interceptor in a very minor fashion. Torque and acceleration was increased, and the gear count was incremented to 6 from 5 prior.

Installation

Please see "Read Me" file. This mod replaces the "handling.meta" file in the common.rpf >> data archive.

I would appreciate feedback, as well as video coverage of this mod! Your video will be linked to this mod should you post a quality video with this mod.

And this is based on real stats? Seems like the AI cars were always faster than me when they shoot past me on pursuit using the same car as me.

I will look into this, however, this is a false alarm. The only contents of the zip file are two text files, so I'm not sure what is upsetting your virus software.

It is -- for the most part. The stupid thing about GTA V is that AI cars don't follow the same handling data as non-AI do. Police cars are defined as "sports car" handling, which is why they shoot by you and yet you can't keep up. This mod is designed to help you keep up, and get up to speed. Crown Vics are not particularly slow, but they were junkers by default in-game. Unless driven by AI, at which point they would be able to reach the speeds of the Adder.

I went ahead and scanned the file with Avast! and MalwareBytes Premium, and was likewise unable to find out what was causing the false flags. Both Avast and MalwareBytes said that the file was safe.

I have McAfee and I downloaded using Chrome. I didn't have any warnings come up. If you like using Vapid a lot, you'll like this mod.
I attached a screen of whats inside the folder.

Jeez I don't know if a Crown can reach a Adder ekk not without some under the hood mods. Even in-game.

Its a false positive I can confirm.  FireFox has been doing this lately with several mods on this site and other downloads from other sites that I know are legit.  FireFox is starting to piss me off with the "Allow Flash" everytime I click on URL etc.  I cam getting down right tired of it.  Chrome is looking better and better.

It is not a virus, other than that, this mod works well.

Hi, Mozilla has been acting up with me as well. I have full paid antivirus, I downloaded multiple files from here using another browser and found no virus. I think Mozilla is getting stricter or something. It is safe to use.

There has been a security breach with Flash, thus now is not safe. Make sure you update your Flash manually again. It's been on the news around the Internet.

Does this apply to the Sheriff cruiser as well?
