I wish Maryland still uses this as the main plate, now we use the "War of 1812" plates.

My theory is that they're trying to get people to pay extra for a different plate. Though, if you notice, new plates are 7 digits, so they had to do some redesign anyway.

I wish Maryland still uses this as the main plate, now we use the "War of 1812" plates.

Don't worry, that new plate is only going to be around for a few more years, then they're going back to the old one.

Really, where have you heard that? I HATE these plates. The flag is okay but the fireworks are just a mess. I asked the MVA representative about getting an old one instead and she said she wish she could do the same about her's.

They said that this plate is only going to be around for three more years. It's for new cars only, and old cars will still keep their plates.
